Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft, at some time in our lives we have played on consoles from these companies, the most popular ones nowadays, but... But what about those parents who couldn't afford to buy their child these mostly expensive devices? Usually and in the vast majority of this situation one knows what they resort to, buy that console that claims to be similar to the original that your child asks for, but with a much cheaper cost, without knowing that they were buying a low-cost Chinese console, one of the most popular cases is the infallible and infallible PolyStation, a clone of the Nintendo Famicom that pretended to pass for a PlayStation. In my case I even had a copy of the Wii that claimed to detect movement but it was a lie and I discovered it late, I felt cheated as well as an MP5 that was like a PSP that only ran NES. Todos hemos llegado a disfrutar alguna vez el placer de jugar en alguna consola, ya sea portátiles o de sobremesa. Aquéllos sentimientos indescriptibles de esas primeras partidas que quizás jamás llegarás a olvidar, tus primeras victorias, tus primeros niveles y esas primeras frustraciones de no haber conseguido derrotar aquél jefe, momentos inolvidables plasmados en tu memoria. Nintendo, Sony y Microsoft, alguna vez en nuestras vidas hemos jugado en consolas de dichas empresas, las más populares actualmente pero... ¿qué ocurre con aquellos padres que no podían permitirse comprarle a su niño estos aparatos en su mayoría costosos? Usualmente y en la gran mayoría de esta situación uno sabe a lo que recurren, comprar aquella consola que dice ser similar a la original que pide tu hijo, pero con un costo muchísimo más económico, sin saber así que estaban comprando una consola china de bajo costo, uno de los casos más populares es la de la infalible e infaltable PolyStation, un clon de la Nintendo Famicom que pretendía hacerse pasar por una PlayStation. En mi caso llegué a tener una copia de la Wii que según detectaba el movimiento pero era mentira y lo descubrí tarde, me sentí engañado además de un MP5 que era como una PSP que solo corría NES. Esto aunque no lo creas ha creado una mala imagen acerca de las consolas que allá se fabrican, así que hoy te vengo a mostrar algunas consolas de calidad fabricadas en China para que cambies tu percepción y aprendas de este mundillo.
The Chinese console quality-price par excellence, costing approximately from 20$-30$ depending on the AliExpress seller. It should be noted that for this console there are two versions, in the first we can emulate Game Boy, Game Boy Color, CSP1, Megadrive, NES, SEGA SG-1000, Master System and Game Gear, in its second version adds the ability to emulate two more consoles that would be NEO GEO and SNES, we also have to be aware of the screen model as the two versions can be found with both LCD and IPS screens, obviously the model with IPS is recommended for the best quality, plus due to the composition of the LCD you get to have several dead spots. It comes in two colours, a very nice grey with black and a black with red. The materials of the console are quite decent and it feels like it has some quality, the only drawback we can find will be with the crosshairs and buttons that feel a bit loose. You can install custom firmware to enable emulation of more consoles such as the GBA but the process is cumbersome. Obviously you can put in the games you want and change them to what you like, we have simple options such as save states and load them, as well as being able to customise by adding game covers to the games. Compared to other consoles such as the popular SUP (NES clone with GB appearance that brings 1000 games, 900 of them repeated), it is an excellent option as they are practically the same price and you can play many consoles and the titles you want.
La consola china calidad-precio por excelencia, costando aproximadamente desde unos 20$-30$ dependiendo del vendedor de AliExpress. Cabe resaltar que para esta consola hay dos versiones, en la primera podremos emular Game Boy, Game Boy Color, CSP1, Megadrive, NES, SEGA SG-1000, Master System y Game Gear, en su segunda versión se añade la posibilidad de emular dos consolas más que serían NEO GEO y SNES, también tenemos que estar pendiente del modelo de pantalla ya que las dos versiones se pueden encontrar tanto con pantallas LCD e IPS, obviamente se recomienda el modelo con IPS por la mejor calidad, además de que debido a la composición de la LCD se llegan a tener varios puntos muertos. Viene en dos colores un gris con negro muy bonito y en un negro con rojo. Los materiales de la consola son bastantes decentes y se siente que posee cierta calidad, el único inconveniente que podremos encontrar será con las crucetas y botones que se sienten algo flojos. Trasteando la consola le podrás instalar Custom Firmware para habilitar la emulación de más consolas como la GBA pero el proceso es engorroso. Obviamente podrás meter los juegos que quieras y cambiarlos por lo más te gusten, tenemos opciones sencillas como las de guardar save states y cargarlos, además de poderse personalizar añadiendo carátulas a los videojuegos. Comparadas con otras consolas como las populares SUP (clon de la NES con apariencia de GB que traen 1000 juegos, 900 de ellos repetidos), es una excelente opción ya que salen prácticamente al mismo precio pudiendo jugar muchas consolas y los títulos que tú quieras.

Here we raise the bar, we are looking at consoles that are designed to be as professional as possible, with beautiful finishes and that denote care as well as quality. One is created by ANBERNIC, a Chinese company focused on creating handheld consoles with the highest possible quality, the other console is evidently created by MIYOO, another company focused on the same. They could be considered as sister consoles (the RG35XX was created to compete with the MIYOO Mini), both located in the same price range between 50-70$ and of course having almost the same specifications. We can emulate the vast majority of consoles including even the PS2, but do not expect much of the emulation of the latter is limited due to the specifications but instead the PS1 runs quite well but if it were to go wrong you could easily install a Custom Firmware (GarlicOS and Koriki) which greatly improves the power and performance of these consoles. Now here you have a more complete operating system with more customization where you can also configure the resolution of the games for those who want to play in the original resolution but if you want it to look more modern you can apply filters to improve the quality. The only "bad" thing you can find in these consoles is that they don't have levers, just a cross and buttons, although it's not a disadvantage in itself, the console tries to be as portable as possible, besides there are other consoles from both companies where you can find this. I consider the RG35XX superior for having a bigger screen, but the MIYOO has a smaller screen and is more portable, although it is a bit uncomfortable to press the buttons if you have big hands.
Acá subimos el nivel, estamos ante consolas que están diseñadas para ser lo más profesional posibles, con acabados hermosos y que denotan cariño además de calidad. Una es creada por mano de ANBERNIC, compañía china enfocada en crear consolas de mano con la mayor calidad posible, la otra consola es evidentemente creada por MIYOO otra empresa enfocada en lo mismo. Se podrían considerar como consolas hermanas (la RG35XX se creó para hacerle competencia a la MIYOO Mini), ambas ubicadas en el mismo rango de precios entre los 50-70$ y por supuesto teniendo casi las mismas especificaciones. Podremos emular la gran mayoría de consolas incluyendo hasta las PS2, aunque no esperen mucho de la emulación de esta última está limitado debido a las especificaciones pero en cambio la PS1 corre bastante bien aunque si llegase a ir mal fácilmente podrías instalar un Custom Firmware (GarlicOS y Koriki) donde se mejora muchísimo la potencia y el rendimiento de éstas consolas. Ya acá se cuenta con un sistema operativo más completo con más personalización donde además podremos configurar la resolución de los juegos para aquellos que quieran jugar en la resolución original pero si quieres que se vea más moderno puedes aplicar filtros que mejoren la calidad. Lo único "malo" que podrás encontrar a estas consolas es que no tenga palancas, solo cruceta y botones, aunque no es una desventaja en sí, la consola trata ser lo más portátil posible, además de que hay otras consolas de las dos empresas donde sí se tiene esto. Yo considero superior la RG35XX por tener una pantalla más grande pero la MIYOO al tener la pantalla más pequeña es más portable aunque un poco incómoda referente a presionar los botones si tienes manos grandes.

I could easily go on talking and mentioning many of them but I cordially invite you to do your own research, I'm not recommending you to buy them either, I'm just mentioning some of the ones I consider good according to my research. Someday I plan to buy one of them and give you a full demonstration on how it works and how the emulation is, but you can also find references on the internet. I also want to mention that at the time of this post, the MIYOO Mini is no longer in production, so you will only be able to buy a used one, if you can get one. I highly recommend the ANBERNIC brand if you want something that has a lot of quality and that you stay away from SUP consoles if they sell them in your country, they are simply a scam and more for the price they sell them for, which is about 25$. Podemos encontrar muchas más consolas, el mundillo de las consolas retro es muy amplio. Yo fácilmente podría seguir hablando y mencionando muchas de ellas pero te invito cordialmente a que hagas tu propia investigación, tampoco te estoy recomendando comprarlas, solo te menciono algunas de las que considero buenas según mi investigación. Algún día planeo comprar alguna de ellas y hacerle una demostración en totalidad sobre cómo funciona y qué tal es la emulación, aunque igualmente se pueden encontrar referencias en internet. También quiero mencionar que al momento de hacer este post, la MIYOO Mini ha dejado de ser producida, así que solamente podrás comprar una usada, si es que la consigues. Te recomiendo encarecidamente la marca de ANBERNIC si quieres algo que tenga mucha calidad y que te alejes a toda costa de las consolas SUP si es que en tu país las venden, son simplemente una estafa y más por el precio que las venden, que es aproximadamente 25$. Buscando y buscando podrás encontrar cosas mejores, así que sin más nada que decir ni que aportar, me despedido creyendo que haz aprendido algo nuevo.
