Racing videogames are a world where speed and driving skills are important, it is useless to be fast if you do not know how to take good curves, and it is useless to know how to take good curves if you are not fast, there is a game in which not having any of these skills has a price, a game in which the ships (in this case) reach very high speeds worthy of fantasy, today we will talk about F-Zero, but to be exact, the game that came out for the Nintendo 64, F-Zero X.
Los videjuegos de carrera son un mundo donde la velocidad y la habilidad para conducir son importantes, de nada te sirve ser veloz si no sabes tomar buenas curvas, y de nada te sirve saber tomar buenas curvas si no eres veloz, hay un juego en el que no disponer de alguna de estas habilidades tiene un precio, un juego en el que las naves (en este caso) alcanzan velocidades altísimas dignas de fantasía, hoy hablaremos de F-Zero, pero para ser exactos, del juego que salió para la Nintendo 64, F-Zero X.
F-Zero X was released in 1998, is the second game of this franchise and the continuation of F-Zero from the Super Nintendo, the story of this game is that we are in the year 2560, humanity has spread throughout the universe, therefore, has exchanged all kinds of information with other forms of life, establishing relationships of all kinds, billionaires benefited from all this and to kill the boredom decided to create a way to have fun, racing in the purest Formula 1 style, but with spaceships that float.
F-Zero X salió en 1998, es el segundo juego de esta franquicia y la continuación de F-Zero de la Super Nintendo, la historia de este juego es que estamos en el año 2560, la humanidad se ha extendido por todo el universo, por ende, ha intercambiado todo tipo de información con otras formas de vida, estableciendo relaciones de todo tipo, los multimillonarios se beneficiaron de todo esto y para matar el aburrimiento decidieron crear una manera para divertirse, carreras al más puro estilo Formula 1, pero con naves que flotan.
Si me preguntas a mí, me parece una idea increíble, te podrá parecer poco original, pero a quien no le gustaría pilotar una nave a velocidades supersónicas mientras intentas destruirle la nave a los otros competidores, porque sí, las naves se destruyen, y si la tuya se destruye automáticamente perdiste, no vuelves a reaparecer, tu nave puede ser destruida cuando su barra de salud quede vacía o al caerte del mapa, por suerte hay algunas zonas rosadas por la pista donde puedes regenerar la vida, después de completar la primera pista puedes usar el turbo, pero cuidado, el turbo le disminuye la salud a la nave, si lo usas mucho quedarás con muy poca vida y morirás solo con un pequeño golpe.
If you ask me, I think it's an incredible idea, it may seem unoriginal, but who wouldn't like to pilot a spaceship at supersonic speeds while you try to destroy the spaceship of the other competitors, because yes, the spaceships are destroyed, and if yours is destroyed you automatically lost, you don't reappear again, your spaceship can be destroyed when its health bar is empty or when you fall from the map, luckily there are some pink areas along the track where you can regenerate life, after completing the first track you can use the turbo, but be careful, the turbo decreases the health of the spaceship, if you use it too much you will be with very little life and you will die just with a small hit.
The spaceship designs look pretty cool to me, although there are some ships that look like a clothes iron, even so I think that is what a futuristic design implies, each spaceship has its strong point, some have better endurance, speed or grip, before starting the race you can change the colors and change the performance of the car to improve the speed or top speed, you decide what suits you best, the spaceships have mechanics like sliding and even gliding in the air.
Los diseños de las naves me parecen bastante cool, aunque hay algunas naves que parecen una plancha de ropa, aun así creo que es lo que implica un diseño futurista, cada nave tiene su punto fuerte, algunos tienen mejor aguante, velocidad o agarre, antes de iniciar la carrera puedes cambiarle los colores y cambiar la prestación del coche para mejorar la velocidad o la velocidad tope, tú decides que es lo que más te conviene, las naves tienen mecánicas como deslizarse y hasta planear en el aire.
Pero, lo que más me gusta de este juego, lo que más me parece impresionante, es su maravillosa banda sonora, es de las mejores que he oído en la Nintendo 64, ir a toda velocidad esquivando a las otras naves e intentando no morir mientas suenan esos OST de fondo, es una experiencia increíble, hasta el día de hoy me parece un juego con una de las mejores bandas sonoras, estoy seguro que habrás escuchado esta en algún lugar, incluso si no has jugado a este juego.
But, what I like most about this game, what I find most impressive, is its wonderful soundtrack, it's one of the best I've heard on the Nintendo 64, going at full speed dodging the other spaceships and trying not to die while those OSTs are playing in the background, is an incredible experience, to this day it seems to me a game with one of the best soundtracks, I'm sure you've heard this one somewhere, even if you haven't played this game.
En el juego hay 5 copas, y cada copa está divida en 6 pistas, eso se traduce como un montón de pistas para correr, y cada copa tiene su estética única, por lo que cada copa se siente muy diferente al resto, hay varios modos de juego, el Grand Prix es el modo torneo en el que tenemos que ser campeón de una copa, el modo Time Attack, no creo que tenga que explicar mucho acerca de este pero se trata de dar vueltas en el menor tiempo posible, en el modo Death Race tenemos que competir contra 29 competidores y tratar de sobrevivir hasta que todos mueran, pero mi modo favorito es el modo VS Battle, en el que podemos jugar hasta 4 jugadores en pantalla dividida, lo he jugado mucho con amigos y no falla cuando se trata de ofrecer diversión.
In the game there are 5 cups, and each cup is divided into 6 tracks, that translates as a lot of tracks to race, and each cup has its unique aesthetics, so each cup feels very different from the rest, there are several game modes, the Grand Prix is the tournament mode where we have to be champion of a cup, the Time Attack mode, I don't think I need to explain much about this one but it's about doing laps in the shortest time possible, in Death Race mode we have to compete against 29 competitors and try to survive until everyone dies, but my favorite mode is the VS Battle mode, in which we can play up to 4 players in split screen, I've played it a lot with friends and it doesn't fail when it comes to offering fun.
F-Zero X es un juego increíble, cada nave tiene un piloto con un diseño único que podremos apreciar, los pilotos y las naves tienen nombres, las naves de F-Zero X alcanzan velocidades muy altas de una manera muy fácil, y es increíble que puedas notar esa velocidad en el juego, el truco de F-zero para darte la impresión de que las naves están viajando a velocidades muy altas es el uso de las texturas del entorno, las texturas de la pista están diseñadas de tal manera que cuando pasemos por ahí dará la impresión de que vamos a la velocidad de la luz.
F-Zero X is an amazing game, each spaceship has a pilot with a unique design that we will be able to appreciate, the pilots and the spaceships have names, the spaceships in F-Zero X reach very high speeds in a very easy way, and it is amazing that you can notice that speed in the game, the trick of F-zero to give you the impression that the spaceships are traveling at very high speeds is the use of the textures of the environment, the textures of the track are designed in such a way that when we pass by it will give the impression that we are going at the speed of light.
