Finally! Modern Warfare 2 is here, and I bring to you guys today some camo grinding gameplay from Modern Warfare 2. I managed to unlock the gold camo within 12 hours of the game's launch, and it took me a very natural 3 to 4 hours to unlock the camo.
This probably was the easiest and most natural camo grind in my very recent years of playing Call of Duty and its camo grinding sessions.
Modern Warfare 2 surely does have one of the cleanest Gold camo's out there, the same for Platinum.
The mastery camos are really something else this time, yet they still do have slight similarities with previous mastery camos. The Polyatomic Camo looks a lot like a mix of Dark Matter and Dark Aether, The Orion Camo is like a space version of Damascus/Atomic; yet, my favorite surely is Polyatomic. Fortunately, unlocking Polyatomic automatically gives you access to Orion, which surely is a relief, and that also hints towards a probability of another mastery camo category getting added soon enough.
Since MW 2 is getting 2 years of updates and support, we surely can expect another set of mastery camos, at least one; just how it was with Modern Warfare (2019) and Obsidian.
The camo grind this time surely is natural and to the point, which a lot people are taking positively, as if it's going to be an easy grind, but they forget that there's a total of 51 weapons in Modern Warfare 2. So, you surely should be expecting a lengthy grind, it's just that this time it won't be as annoying.
Yet, I think the challenges should've been a bit more challenging, cranking up the numbers by a kill or two would've done the job.
I'm currently focusing on leveling up the weapons and also unlocking gold on my favorite weapons, but the goal surely is Polyatomic and Orion. However, there's no hurry at all, I have to take it slow this time, since I barely get much time o play these days.
Th M4 build you see above is probably the best M4 loadout for any map and mode, I used this for most of my best matches, but the No Stock option is also a great one if you're someone who likes to run and gun. The max level on the M4 is 20, which isn't the max for many other weapons. According to variations and weapon types the levels go up and down, but it's still an easy and natural process.
But for the camos you have to get a set of specific type of kills, which goes like this:
- Get 50 Kills
Get 10 Double Kills
Get 50 ADS Kills
Get 15 Kills from Behind
These challenges are mentioned in the Customization - Camo section, but the last challenge is to actually get 3 kills without dying 10 times, which is the final challenge towards unlocking the Gold camo. I guess this last challenge applies for every single weapon, but the other four main challenges differ from weapon to weapon and weapon types.
Nothing about the last challenge is mentioned anywhere in the game though, so you'll probably have to rely on YouTube if the weapons you're grinding have a different objective for the last challenge.
The gameplay for today is the one where I unlocked the gold camo for my M4, quite a lot of running and gunning in this one, but I also managed to maintain a decent 8 K/D. For now my target is the MP7, and the Kastov and Scar are next in line.
Funny thing, back when I grinded for the Gold camo in Modern Warfare (2019) I also started out with these two weapons, the M4 and the MP7. It's a whole different game and scenario now, MW is now 3 years old(as mentioned in the name).
Modern Warfare 2 looks positive for the most part, but it still needs a bit of work to reach that sweet little spot we call "perfection"(which is actually nowhere near perfect) but it still manages to get the job done, it's all about balance, in the end.
