Magic: The Gathering — Bob Ross Painted Lands Collection

Greetings, fellow sentient beings!

Not the time to be sentient right now. More like...the time to be sentimental.

The usually dumb, not as a marketing strategy but dumb in the hearts of hardcore fans (ain't it all like that?) product of Wizards of The Coast who are behind Magic:The Gathering (MTG for short), Dungeons&Dragons, and other top brands in their respective field...didn't that sentence came too long already?

Secret Lair. That is the series of products for collectors. And I mostly consider it overpriced trap of a product for people to pay more for cards with rarely enough value.

Until it hit me. Emotionally.

This latest issue includes basic land, which are cards that should cost nothing since you have tons of them already and you only need a few...

But those have their artworks done by Bob Ross. A legend outside the Magic: The Gathering circles.

If you don't know who that guy is yet, I suggest you start by watching the Bob Ross Deadpool teaser video. And start from there to the real dude.

You will feel good.

As I did when I got my invitation to use codes from an e-mail by MTG Arena and claim my digital copies of those basic lands.

Unfortunately, they are not anything like NFTs. They are files on their server. I kind of wonder if I should still go and find a way to buy the paper versions at some point. Am I that much a collector at least? I don't know. The price is about 60 Euro for a box right now. Who knows where it goes in time...

Anyway, here's how they look:

Happy Little Swamp — probably my favorite.

And I know people who would appreciate...

Ok, let's not get there yet.

Still, I am enthusiastic about this particular collection.

Good luck and have fun!

Yours,

Manol
