Spider-Man is one of the most beloved superheroes in the Marvel universe and he has had a great variety of his own video games and appearances in other titles throughout history. During the 90's there were several titles of this Superhero and in some titles he appeared together with one of the most popular villains such as Venom. Spider-Man & Venom - Maximum Carnage is a video game that belongs to the beat 'em up genre and like all games of this style has a gameplay and mechanics quite simple to understand. In this adventure we can play with both Spider-Man and Venom and throughout the game we must eliminate the different enemies and gang members that appear on the screen as we advance through the level. Each enemy has its own life bar and name which appears on the top right side of the screen just opposite to where the health bar of our character will be whether we choose Spider-Man or Venom. As in all beat 'em up games that show us the health of the basic enemies this helps us to know which enemy to attack first to eliminate them one by one in an easier way.
The controls in Spider-Man & Venom - Maximum Carnage are very simple where in addition to the basic movement of the character we will have four other buttons which will serve to jump, swing across the screen using the web, give a basic blow with his fists which generates combos if you hit an enemy in a row.

If we lose a life we will appear in the same place to continue fighting but on the other hand if we lose all lives and still have the option to continue we will reappear from the beginning of the level with 3 lives.
Spider-Man & Venom - Maximum Carnage stands out for its level of difficulty which can be considered quite high for several factors, the character does not have invulnerability after receiving a blow which causes that in some moments two or more enemies surround you and when they hit you they reduce practically all your health bar in an instant, some bosses have quite fast attacks that cause a lot of damage so you must have good reflexes in combat and the fact that the appearance of healing elements is so rare makes it very difficult to advance safely. Spider-Man & Venom - Maximum Carnage es un título algo antiguo que data del año 1994 y el mismo es un videojuego en donde veremos a una gran de cantidad de villanos famosos de los Comic de Spider-Man. Este juego estuvo disponible para las dos consolas más populares de esa época como lo eran la Sega Génesis y la SNES. El mismo cuenta con un estilo grafico vivo e intenso muy similar a los Comic de su época.

Spider-Man & Venom - Maximum Carnage es un Videojuego que pertenece al género de beat 'em up y que como todos los juegos de este estilo cuenta con una jugabilidad y mecánicas bastante sencillas de entender. En esta aventura podremos jugar tanto con Spider-Man como con Venom y a lo largo del juego debemos eliminar a los diferentes enemigos y pandilleros que van apareciendo en pantalla a medida de avanzamos por el nivel. Cada enemigo cuenta con su propia barra de vida y nombre el cual aparece en el lado superior derecho de la pantalla justo al lado contrario de donde estará la barra de salud de nuestro personaje ya sea que escojamos a Spider-Man o a Venom. Como en todos los beat 'em up que nos muestran la salud de los enemigos básicos esto nos ayuda a saber a cuál enemigo atacar primero para ir eliminándolos uno por uno de manera más fácil.
Los controles en Spider-Man & Venom - Maximum Carnage son muy simples en donde además del movimiento básico del personaje contaremos con otros cuatro botones los cuales servirán para saltar, columpiarnos por la pantalla usando la telaraña, dar un golpe básico con los puños el cual genera combos si se golpea de manera seguida a algún enemigo.

Por ultimo tenemos un botón para usar la telaraña de tres formas diferentes según la forma en que se presione el botón, si se hacen dos pulsaciones cortas sin moverse lanza un disparo de telaraña que atrapa momentáneamente al enemigo que golpea y le impide moverse, dejarlo presionado generara un escudo de telaraña que puede bloquear algunos ataque de los enemigos pero no todos y por ultimo al dejarlo presionado moviéndose en una dirección lanza una telaraña que atrapa a los enemigos y los atrae hacia el personaje para poder golpearlos. También es posible hacer un salto para dar una patada pero esto no resulta tan seguro y efectivo como en otros juegos de este género.

Al final de algunos escenarios deberemos enfrentar a Jefes para poder progresar, algunos de ellos serán Shreik y Doppelganger que son enemigos famosos de los comic pero en nuestros primeros encuentros no los venceremos en su lugar escaparan luego del combate, otros jefes básicos si se derrotan en el enfrentamiento. Al derrotar a los enemigos básicos durante los niveles contamos con una posibilidad de que los mismo son suelten corazones para recuperar salud así como conseguir vidas extra, sin embargo la probabilidad de esto es sumamente baja y puede que completes varios niveles sin que puedas recuperar la salud. Si perdemos una vida apareceremos en el mismo lugar para seguir luchando pero por otro lado si perdemos todas las vidas y aún tenemos la opción de continuar volveremos aparecer desde el principio del nivel con 3 vidas.
Spider-Man & Venom - Maximum Carnage destaca por su nivel de dificultad el cual se puede considerar bastante elevado por varios factores, el personaje no cuenta con invulnerabilidad luego de recibir un golpe lo cual provoca que en algunos momento te rodeen dos o más enemigos y al golpearte te reduzcan prácticamente toda la barra de salud en un instante, algunos jefes cuentan con ataque bastante rápidos y que causan mucho daño por lo cual debes tener buenos reflejos en los combates y el hecho de ser tan rara la aparición de elementos curativos provoca que sea muy difícil avanzar con seguridad. Además de eso este juego no cuenta con opciones de dificultad que se pueden modificar. A pesar de esto Spider-Man & Venom - Maximum Carnage es un gran y complicado juego beat 'em up al cual dedicaras muchas horas si deseas completarlo y si eres un gran fanático de los Comic de Spider-Man sin duda lo disfrutaras.
