Take The Idol If You Dare!

Hola Hive Gaming Community. I feel elated writing here. And as you may have guessed, boredom is what got me to play this game. I walked in on my sisters playing a game and I gasped, Temple Run is still in existence!!

It’s been forever since I played this game and I wanted to see the changes since I last played. So, of course, I asked them for a try and restarted the game
This one is Temple Run 2 and once I saw the start page, I started smiling, hoping for a dazzling surprise.

And yes, I was surprised because this is not the Spooky Submit I expected to see. I think it’s the regular Temple Run so my vibe immediately plummeted.
Looking at this brought back such nostalgia. My mind went back to the first time I played and how nervous I was because, why would I want to take the idol?😂 Anyways, I eventually did.

The game started and I started running. I doubt some people haven’t played this game but if you haven’t, Temple Run is just a game of endless running. No, there are no stops(unless you pause the game). You just keep running, dodging, dunking, jumping and ducking obstacles till you eventually fail.

There are these new artifacts, apart from the regular treasure chests that appear spontaneously before you and you are expected to jump and claim them. I tried several times to screenshot while grabbing a chest but it proved abortive. Whether it’s because they suddenly appear or I have slow reflexes, we’ll never know.🙂

I don’t still know the exact use of the artifacts, except the fact that once you get the total number required, you’re qualified for some ‘perks.’ Now, I tried using these perks but I’ve not been able to get the hang of it…..yet.

The waterslide was fun. That’s about my best part of the game because when you reach a certain level of speed, which mind you, increases as you run, you need some sort of breather. So when you’ve run a while and it looks like you’ll fail any minute, the waterslide is a most welcome feature to calm you down and get you ready for when you get down from the slide. I don’t know if that’s what the inventors of the game made it for, but it does the trick for me so…..

Eventually, I fell off a cliff but I’d been boosted to third place, based on my high score. A much-welcomed achievement after being away from the game this long.

I found a chest, and I opened it to see what was inside. Before, opening chests was seriously looked forward to as there were game-based delicious treats but this time, the gifts aren’t so inviting and I confirmed this from my sisters who said there was almost nothing to look forward to. I did get some gems though, but they said it was quite rare. Lucky me.

I took a tour of the other features and found the coin skins. Not much has been added since the last time but it still gives the game a nice, aesthetic look.

I realized we had just enough coins to buy some new characters but not enter a new location. Currently, we were at 112 gems which are barely enough so, I advised that they don’t misuse it as we were saving up to go to a new location. Preferably frozen shadows. What can I say, I like the cold…?

I enjoyed playing Temple Run 2 though. It may not be as fun as it used to be but it’s still a refreshing game after the day’s endeavours. I know, most of us have old memories of playing this game. I would love to hear your reaction to it.

All pictures are mine and were taken as screenshots from my phone.
