If we talk about classic games that do not go out of fashion we certainly have to take into account this tremendous game, although today there are more racing games with better graphics I personally believe that need for speed undergound 2 is not far behind, there are so many things that can be done in this wonderful game that talking about it sincerely gives me great satisfaction.
Music
I want to start by emphasizing the different musical genres that you can listen to either in the game menu, in the challenge races or while driving around the city, you can find from electronic music, metal, hip hop, alternative rock, heavy metal, black metal and even more fused genres, which have such energy that inspire you to be competitive and want to win every race in the best way, the music is connected to the feelings and they have made the perfect selection to be able to transmit the feeling of the adrenaline that is lived in the clandestine races, some of the songs of the game are even very recognized and it could be said that they are a musical success that marked the era of the 2000, some of the best known songs are "the death & resurrection show - killing joke (2003)", "switch twitch - Fluke (2003)", "lean back - terror squad (2004)", "celebration song unwritten law(2005)", "lax xzibit(2004)", "snoop dogg ft the doors riders on the storm(2004)". I want to clarify that this version of Riders On The Storm was recorded only and exclusively for this video game in 2004, since the first version of the song was made in 1971, so in the year 2004 snoop dog recorded this song with the living members of "The Doors". To finish this part I want to mention another of my favorite songs which was "felix da housecat - rocket ride (soulwax remix)"(2004)". This song is a total madness, I love the combination of sounds, from electric guitars, effects with retro style synthesizers, the combination of rock with electronic music could say that with a bit of "Deep House" and the female voice is for me just a genius, I love this song and is the song that I enjoy the most when playing NFSU2.
The Dyno Workshop
Not to mention all the freedom you have to make your car fly, you can not only change the parts of your car by buying them, you can also improve the performance of them by adjusting them to your liking in the Dyno workshop, here you can play with aerodynamics, acceleration, suspension and more, what you should know is that your car will not always need all the packages offered in the stores, for example, if your car normally does not have much stability it is very clear that you should buy good tires and work your suspension to have more grip and control, but what if after doing that you ask for a weight reduction package? Although sometimes it is favorable to reduce weight, there are also cases where the weight reduction will only play against you and I say this because some cars are already very light from the factory, then reducing its weight would only make you fly like a feather in a crash. My recommendation is to know how to work more on the acceleration, aerodynamics and turbo of the car.
After making all the modifications to your liking you can test your car in the race mode you want, I personally always choose the straight acceleration races so I can evaluate how fast my car is and in what time I reach certain marks on the speed indicator or speedometer.
Career Styles & Map
On the map you can get different types of races and you can learn to differentiate them by color, the yellow ones are the most difficult races belonging to the U.R.L., where there are several sponsors and where the toughest money in the city moves, there are also the purple races that are the 3-lap circuits in the city, there are the drift style races by score and many others that I will leave in a more visual way in an image because I do not want to go so deep into this topic because I want to talk about other things in the game that I find more interesting and fun.
You can also get the different workshops, each color has its function and particularly the one I like the most is the yellow color where you can give a touch of visual genius to your car in terms of sound, neon lights, mechanized doors, among other things.
Dvd & Magazines
As you advance in the game and get noticed by winning races, you will get the attention of sponsors who will offer you contracts to sign with them and at the same time you will be invited to be part of the best famous car magazines, having the opportunity to be on the covers of these magazines and even to be on the covers of car DVDs.
In the contracts you must be smart when choosing the sponsor, as some pay much more money than others but remember that what you do most are races so it is convenient to have a good amount of money per race, many sponsors offer good money every time you get to be on a magazine cover or in a special event like the dvd, but in my opinion it is much better to get a high amount repeatedly in the races.
Free Races
In the city you will come across different racers that will challenge you to free races without rules, what you must do to win is to achieve a distance of quite remarkable difference until you get out of sight and automatically a sum of money will fall to your bank account, as you win races you will unlock more places in the city and the racers that challenge you will be faster and faster, but if you know how to work well your car you can surely be the king of the races.
Main Menu
In the main menu you can transform cars to your liking freely without the need to unlock them and you can even use them to play against your friends in lan mode, so do not just limit yourself to play NFSU2 alone, remember that you can play with more people and have fun in a group.
Graphics
To finish I want to talk a little about the graphics of the game, although it is more than clear that it is an old game the graphics in terms of the details of the cars are totally crazy, I think the detail of the brakes, paint, vinyls, unique designs, spoilers, the fire of the exhaust pipe to operate the nitrous oxide looks spectacular and I sincerely love that everything is so nocturnal, the lights that adorn the city, the drops on the screen when it rains, I think everything is very well detailed and not to mention the races that take place in the airport area, sometimes in the middle of the race you see the planes taking off or returning to the city, that's why I say that the feeling of playing NFSU2 is incredibly cool.
From my perspective everything feels very real, the only thing I can criticize about this game is that the cars do not receive considerable damage when having accidents, as in other versions of Need For Speed, I think it is one of the things they failed to add to this game, the other would be that if they had included in the game the police control and arrests for sure everything would have been even more realistic than it already is and quite exciting to run so in the free challenges as you would have or run the risk of being arrested.

El Taller De Dyno
Ni hablar de toda la libertad que tienes para hacer volar a tu carro, no solamente puedes cambiar las piezas de tu auto comprándolas, también puedes mejorar el funcionamiento de las mismas ajustándolas a tu gusto en el taller de Dyno, aquí puedes jugar con la aerodinámica, la aceleración, la suspensión y mas, lo que debes saber es que tu carro no siempre necesitara todos los paquetes que se ofrecen en las tiendas, por ejemplo, si tu carro normalmente no tiene mucha estabilidad esta muy claro que debes comprarle unos buenos neumáticos y trabajar su suspensión para así tener mas agarre y control, pero ¿qué pasaría si luego de hacer eso pides un paquete de reducción de peso? Aunque en algunas ocasiones es favorable la reducción de peso, también existen casos donde la reducción de peso solo te jugara en contra y esto lo digo porque algunos carros ya son muy livianos de fabrica, entonces reducir su peso solo haría que en algún choque te hagan volar como una pluma. Mi recomendación es saber trabajar mas la aceleración, la aerodinámica y el turbo del carro.
Luego de realizar todas las modificaciones a tu gusto puedes realizar una prueba a tu auto en la modalidad de carrera que desees, yo personalmente siempre elijo las carreras de aceleración en recta así puedo evaluar cuan rapido es mi auto y en que tiempo llego a ciertas marcas en el indicador de velocidad o velocímetro.
Estilos De Carreras & Mapa
En el mapa se pueden conseguir diferentes tipos de carreras y puedes aprender a diferenciarlas por colores, las de color amarillo son las carreras un poco mas difíciles pertenecientes a la U.R.L, donde hay varios patrocinadores y donde se mueve el dinero mas rudo de la ciudad, también están las carreras de color morado que son los circuitos de 3 vueltas en la ciudad, existen las de estilo derrape por puntuación y muchas otras que las dejare de forma mas visual en una imagen ya que no quiero profundizar tanto en este tema porque quiero hablar de otras cosas del juego que me parecen mas interesantes y divertidas.
También puedes conseguir los distintos talleres, cada color tiene su función y particularmente el que mas me gusta es el de color amarillo donde puedes darle un toque de genialidad visual a tu auto en cuanto al sonido, luces de neón, puertas mecanizadas, entre otras cosas.
Dvd & Revistas
A medida que avanzas en el juego y te haces notar ganando las carreras, obtendrás la atención de patrocinadores los cuales te ofrecerán contratos para que firmes con ellos y al mismo tiempo te invitaran a ser parte de las mejores revistas famosas de autos, teniendo la oportunidad de salir en las portadas de dichas revistas incluso de salir en portadas de DVD de autos.
En los contratos debes ser inteligente al elegir el patrocinador, ya que algunos pagan mucho mas dinero que otros pero recuerda que lo que mas realizas son carreras así que es conveniente tener una buena suma de dinero por carrera, muchos patrocinadores ofrecen buen dinero cada vez que consigues salir en una portada de revista o en algún evento especial como los dvd, pero a mi parecer es mucho mejor obtener una suma alta repetidamente en las carreras.
Carreras Libres
En la ciudad te toparas con distintos corredores que te retaran también a carreras libres sin reglas, lo que debes hacer para ganar es lograr una distancia de diferencia bastante notable hasta que te pierdas de su vista y automáticamente caerá una suma de dinero a tu cuenta de banco, a medida que ganes carreras desbloquearas mas sitios de la ciudad y los corredores que te reten serán cada vez mas veloces, pero si sabes trabajar bien tu coche de seguro podrás ser el rey de las carreras.
Main Menu
En el main menú puedes transformar carros a tu gusto libremente sin la necesidad de desbloquearlos y puedes utilizarlos incluso para jugar contra tus amigos en modo lan, así que no solo te limites a jugar NFSU2 tu solo, recuerda que puedes jugar con mas personas y divertirte en grupo
Gráficos
Para terminar quiero hablar un poco sobre los gráficos del juego, que aunque esta mas que claro que es un juego viejo los gráficos en cuanto a los detalles de los autos son una total locura, me parece excelente el detalle de los frenos, la pintura, los vinilos, los diseños únicos, los spoiler, el fuego del tubo de escape al accionar el oxido nitroso se ve espectacular y a mi sinceramente me encanta que todo sea tan nocturno, las luces que adornan la ciudad, las gotas en la pantalla cuando llueve, creo que todo esta muy bien detallado y ni hablar de las carreras que se realizan en la zona del aeropuerto, a veces en plena carrera ves a los aviones despegando o volviendo a la ciudad, es por ello que digo que la sensación de jugar NFSU2 es increíblemente genial.
desde mi perspectiva todo se siente muy real, lo único que puedo criticar de este juego es que los autos no reciben un daño considerable al tener accidentes, como en otras versiones de Need For Speed, creo que es una de las cosas que les falto añadir a este juego, la otra seria que si hubiesen incluido en el juego el control policial y los arrestos de seguro todo hubiese sido aun mucho mas realista de lo que ya es y bastante emocionante correr asi en los retos libres ya que tendrías o correrías el peligro de ser arrestado.
