Live Summit - Back to Hollywood [Let's Play Games #6]

The news brought in this week Live Summit of The Crew 2 came with a remaster of a previous event played in July 2020, called Summer in Hollywood.

Even though the name didn't change too much, the current one being entitled Back to Hollywood, the races are way more different than expected, but which came as a great surprise being able to finally complete all races and obtain a pretty cool score at the end, putting me on the 299th position from a total of over 1 million gamers who played the summit so far.

While in the previous event the focus was mainly on off-road races, this time we get closer to what Need For Speed series meant, namely street races because you will see that more than half of the races are based on this mode.

Anyway, let's jump into the races and find a little bit more about each of them, because, as always, there are 9 missions that are waiting for us to test our driving skills on different modes and surfaces:

  1. Speedtrap - where you have to pass a border on the map with a speed faster than 180 km/h. [No Restriction Race]
  2. Aerobatics - which I think is something new for some of you because we will need to fly a plane and get through some gates matching the figures shown. We need to obtain at least 3,770 points in order to qualify further. [No Restriction Race]
  3. Escape - probably one of the races that are never missing during the weekly Live Summits, where you need to drive at least 710 m away from the start to complete the race. [No Restriction Race]
  4. Street - a first proper Street Race where you compete against other players and you need to reach Top 3 in order for the race to be marked as completed. [No Restriction Race]
  5. Monster Truck - where you have to drive one of those beast cars and also reach one of the Top 3 places to win the race. [No Restriction Race]
  6. Street - another Street Race where you have to also finish in the Top 3 players. [No Restriction Race]
  7. Street - the difference between this one and the rest of the Street Races from the current Live Summit is made by the restriction where you have to drive with a specific car. Other than that, you still need to cross the finish line in one of the first 3 positions to win the race. [Mustang Boss 429 required]
  8. Rally Cross - a less street race but more dirt and dust on the trail which you need to follow and reach in the Top 3 players to mark the race as completed. [Charger R/T Hemi required]
  9. Alpha Grand Prix - is one of the modes that I really love playing because I'm also a fan of the F1 races so driving open-wheel cars in the game is pretty fun! You also need to cross the finish line in the Top 3 positions to win the race. [No Restriction Race]

Happily, the single car that I needed to purchase this time, was the Mustang Boss 429 required in the 7th race, so as soon as I purchased it and made sure to bring all the pieces for the tunning at the maximum level, I began doing the races for Back to Hollywood Live Summit that will be available from 20 to 27th October.

Anyway, being a Need for Speed fan, I really loved doing the street races from this weekly event, even though the rest were pretty fun too. Having the possibility to win the races on any of the top 3 positions in most of the races came as a great advantage comparing it with other events where you need to take the 1st place to qualify further.

The best part is that I managed to finish all races on the 1st place and didn't have to restart them as much as I used to in the past, obtaining over 100,000 points from the first try. The single race that seemed a little bit more challenging for me and which is also the only one with a score bellow 100,000 points, is the first one, namely the Speedtrap, because the position on the map wasn't so advantageous, having some curves that forced you to press the break pedal to avoid hitting the street parapet.

Level: 1579
Completion races: 9/9
Races with a score over 100,000: 8/9
Currently placed in the summit: 299/1,068,906
