Out Run and its most regrettable ports in history

1986 was a fabulous year for video games, because in that year SEGA launched in the arcades a machine that surprised many players of the time, this was Out Run, an excellent game where you had to test your sense of driving at high speeds with a beautiful blonde accompanying you on your great journey. But it was not only a simple driving game, you had to take into account the time and the different obstacles to be able to finish the course.

At that time, the graphics of this machine and its design were really attractive, besides having a very polished gameplay that allowed the player to have one of the best experiences of the moment, but what really transmitted a pleasant feeling when driving that brand new Ferrari, was the music of the game, composed by composer Hiroshi Kawaguchi.

Thanks to the enormous success of Out Run, the ports for different consoles were not long in coming, in fact, a huge amount of them came out over the years, however, not all of them were lucky enough to be successful, as there were systems that received a lousy version of this great title.

Next, you will know the most pathetic ports that Out Run received in history, remember that these games that you will see below are based on the criticism of users and the press of those years, if you know another port that should be present indicate it in the comments section.

MS-DOS - 1989

We start with one of the best known, since many users handled this operating system at that time, at first glance it seems an acceptable port with good graphics and good gameplay, however, it was a very poorly optimized game for the MS-DOS system, so it caused many annoyances in the players, damaging the experience that should give this fabulous game, however, this is in first place because what you see below is the worst that could exist of Out Run.

MSX - 1988

MSX was one of the most famous computers in several places, especially in Japan, where it had the pleasure of receiving excellent video games, however, in the case of Out Run it was not so, since it received a port that sadly shows the worst programming of a developer studio. The one in charge of making this sacrilege was Bedrock Software and it is considered one of the worst games in this system, due to its terrible gameplay, horrible sounds and music that has nothing to do with the arcade machine.

Amstrad CPC - 1987

Finally, we have one of the worst ports ever created in the history of video games, developed by Probe Entertainment, a company that on several occasions has made ports of very poor quality, one of them is this Out Run, which just seeing it simply takes away the desire to play to anyone who has ever played the arcade. The first thing that directly affects the game is the lack of music and sounds, occasionally hearing the occasional skidding of the tires, followed by the high pixels that could leave you looking squared for hours, something that disappointed many since this system gives a better visual aspect in other video games.

These were some of the worst ports of Out Run they could create back in the day, I would love to know in the comments section if you ever played this excellent video game and stumbled upon some of the above mentioned ports.
