When creating a story many elements and characters are needed to make it appealing and engaging to all viewers, and we can all agree that without a good villain not even the best of stories have a real purpose, because if there was no antagonist it would just be a man in search of a purpose.
To give an example, in God Of War we have Kratos a vengeance thirsty demigod that if he didn't have Zeus, would just be a bald man killing people and monsters everywhere he goes, plus without his antagonist, he would have no purpose since no one kills his family, that's why a prominent villain is so important.
In the Star Wars franchise, the main villain is Lord Sidious, a powerful sith lord who rules from the shadows, and if you watch all the Star Wars movies and series you can realize his power. But the big disadvantage of this villain which is also the reason why I didn't choose him, is that he doesn't use his saber to fight in combat, he did it only once but also on no other occasion.
But unlike Sidious, his apprentice Darth Vader is one of the most memorable villains of all Star Wars because, in addition to using the force his maximum power to defeat his enemies, he also fights with lightsabers in a very brutal way, so I wanted to explain through 4 reasons why I think Darth Vader is the best villain of video games and to do this I will base on his most recent appearance in Star Wars: Jedi fallen order.
He knows both sides of the force: Darth Vader before falling to the dark side was Anakin Skywalker a very respected Jedi knight who knew very well the light side, but when he fell to the dark side his skills become better because he dominated much better emotions and therefore the power of the force, so in a duel with the use of the force was unstoppable.
His presence instills fear in opponents: When Kestis had to face the final boss who is Vader, throughout the fight he was very afraid and rightly so because his presence, his clothes, and his mask, all of the dark color instills terror in the opponent, also not expressing emotions that fear is intensified.
He appears in the most expected moments: When I saw Rogue One and in the final part appears Darth Vader annihilating the soldiers of the resistance I could not contain the emotion, and when in Star Wars: Jedi fallen order Vader appeared as the final boss, I knew that this story would have a movie ending, since very few times you have the opportunity to face such a powerful opponent.
When fighting is unstoppable: Anakin fought against the sith he was very skillful and powerful but he limited himself to not give in to his emotions and end up a prisoner of the dark side, but when he became Darth Vader there were no limits to that power and he could use it as he wanted, and we can notice this in the way he fights against his rivals since he concentrates all his fury, his ability and his power to win.

Al crear una historia se necesitan muchos elementos y personajes para que resulte atractiva y atrape a todos los espectadores, y todos podemos concordar que sin un buen villano ni siquiera la mejor de las historias tiene un propósito real, ya que si no hubiera un antagonista solo sería un hombre en busca de un propósito.
Para poner un ejemplo, en God Of War tenemos a Kratos un semidiós sediento de venganza que si no tuviera a Zeus, solo sería un hombre calvo matando personas y monstruos por donde quiera que pase, además sin su antagonista el no tuviera ningún sentido ya que nadie mata a su familia, por eso es la importancia de un villano prominente.
En la franquicia de Star Wars el villano principal es Lord Sidious, un poderoso lord sith que gobierna desde las sombras y si miras todas las películas de Star Wars y las series te podrás dar cuenta de su poder. Pero la gran desventaja de este villano que también es la razón por la cual no lo elegí, es que no usa su sable para pelear en combates, lo hizo una sola vez pero además en ninguna otra ocasión.
Pero a diferencia de Sidious, su aprendiz Darth Vader es uno de los villanos más memorables de todo Star Wars ya que además de usar la fuerza su máximo poder para vencer a sus enemigos, también pelea con sables de luz de una manera muy brutal, por eso quería explicar mediante 4 razones porque pienso que Darth Vader es el mejor villano de los videojuegos y para hacer esto me basare en su más reciente aparición en **Star Wars: jedi fallen order. **
Conoce ambos lados de la fuerza: Darth Vader antes de caer al lado oscuro era Anakin Skywalker un caballero jedi muy respetado que conocía muy bien el lado luminoso, pero cuando cayó al lado oscuro sus habilidades se repotenciaron ya que dominaba mucho mejor las emociones y por ende el poder de la fuerza, así que en duelo con el uso de la fuerza era imparable.
Su presencia infunde miedo en los oponentes: Cuando Kestis se tuvo que enfrentar al jefe final que es Vader, en todo el combate tuvo mucho miedo y con mucha razón ya que su presencia, su ropa y su máscara, todo de color oscuro infunde terror en el oponente, además al no expresar emociones ese miedo se intensifica.
Aparece en los momentos más esperados: Cuando vi Rouge One y en la parte final aparece Darth Vader aniquilando a los soldados de la resistencia no pude contener la emoción, y cuando en Star Wars: jedi fallen order apareció Vader como jefe final, sabía que esta historia tendría un final de película, ya que muy pocas veces tienes la oportunidad de enfrentarte a un oponente tan poderoso.
Al pelear es imparable: Cuando Anakin peleaba contra los sith era muy hábil y poderoso pero se limitaba para no ceder a las emociones y terminar preso del lado oscuro, pero cuando se convirtió en Darth Vader ya no había limites a ese poder y podía usarlo como quisiera, y esto lo podemos notar en la manera que lucha contra sus rivales ya que concentra todo su furia, su habilidad y su poder para vencer.
