Rain and Rainbows

source

There is one thing that I have learned about life and that is you really can't get the good stuff in life if you can't handle the hard stuff first. Kind of like when you want to see a rainbow, it's not going to show itself until after it rains a bit and rain is not always a comfortable experience.

The work grind can be very tiring. Long nights, stress, all that make you wonder why you started doing this. But when you finally hit your milestone or finish a big project, it makes the satisfaction feel different because you earned it. The struggle you went through to get there makes the success feel so much sweeter.

This goes with relationships, too. They're not always sunshine and roses. People disagree, and sometimes it gets heated. But making it through those rough moments as a unit makes the bond tighter. Without the occasional storm, we might not appreciate the calm as much.

Learning something new is just the same experience. In the beginning, it is all confusion and messing up. Infact sometimes the thought of giving up outweighs the patience one has when things do not work out immediately. However, practicing and improving with time always pays off. Then suddenly, what looked impossible becomes second nature to you and that is your rainbow after the rain.

Whether big or small, every challenge is just part of the process. It is not fun at all I'll admit, but rewards never come with a little fight right? So, every time I face a challenge, I just tell myself it's the rain before the rainbow. That thought keeps me moving in the sense that the hard work is going to be leading to something better.
