New Cards in Splinterlands | Splinterlands Social Media Challenge

Hello, Splinterlands warriors! On August 15th, we're in for a treat with a new set of cards that will shake up the strategies we've come to rely on. Of course, every card update brings its own excitement—whether you're a seasoned player with battle scars or a newcomer still finding your footing in the world of Splinterlands.

I’ve had a sneak peek at some of the upcoming cards, and as usual, some have left me amazed, some puzzled, and others just plain curious. In this article, I’d like to share my thoughts and personal opinions on some of the cards that caught my eye the most. Keep in mind, this is just my personal take, and your perspective might differ.

Legendary Cards with 1 Mana

This release features a few legendary cards that have grabbed my attention—not for their power, but for their uniqueness. These cards, despite their legendary status, require only 1 mana to play and have just one ability at their maximum level. This has sparked some debate among players. Is it worth investing in a legendary card that might be quite expensive but only offers a single ability?

On one hand, some argue that low-mana cards are invaluable in battles with tight mana caps. However, I can’t ignore the fact that in previous series, there were legendary cards that required 0 mana, offering even greater value in specific situations. The question is: are these cards really worth upgrading to the maximum level given their limitations?

Cards with New Abilities

One of the cards that grabbed my attention is a 6-mana card with double strike, opportunity, and a new ability called mimic. This mimic ability is truly unique and something I haven’t seen before in previous series. The card can gain a random ability from the enemy team at the start of the second round and in subsequent rounds, with a 25% chance of acquiring an attacker’s ability when hit. However, there’s a catch—debuffs like Dispel can remove the mimic ability that has been gained, and certain abilities can’t be mimicked at all.

This card demands players to think more strategically. How can we make the most of this random ability? How do we protect this card from Dispel effects? These challenges make me eager to test this card in battle.

Lower Rarity Cards with Upper-Rarity Abilities

It’s not just the legendary cards that stand out; some epic cards are also worth noting because they have abilities that come close to those of legendary cards. This is particularly appealing for players who want to try out new strategies without investing heavily in legendary cards. Or perhaps you’ve noticed some common cards that seem exceptionally strong, almost like rare cards from previous series. My curiosity is definitely piqued.

There are many more cards I’m looking forward to trying out on August 15th. Each card has the potential to change the course of a battle, and I’m excited to see how these new cards will impact the strategies we’ve relied on. So, get ready to rethink your tactics, and let’s watch how these new cards will shake up the world of Splinterlands!
