HINDRANCE - NOT THE END OF THE ROAD

1 Thessalonians 2:10-20
π KEY VERSE:
We wanted to come to you ... indeed, I, Paul, once and again ..but Satan hindered us" (1 Thessalonians 2:18).
ποΈ COMMENTARY
As one sets a goal, objective, purpose or an end any material or immaterial issue that interferes with or delays action or progress on the attainment of the goal is a hindrance. God's children down through the ages have faced multi dimensional stoppages in the kingdom business. Hindrances can emanate from known and unknown variables. lt can affect highly anointed instruments as well as greenhorns in the faith. It can dis-aggregate the total equilibrium of a person and usher in absolute confusion. It can also enlarge one's experience and throw open new windows never thought of, previously. It is the attitude that follows hindrance that helps the result to manifest, whether negative or positive.
From the above letter to the Thessalonians, Paul planned severally, to visit but could not. He was hindered. In spite of his revelation gifts and Holy Ghost empowerment, he was hindered. Even our Lord was hindered in His earthly ministry. When He healed the demoniac at Gadara; the entire community came out and pressed Him not to proceed further perhaps because of the financial loss in pigs. He headed back to Capernaum. Hindrances can be physical or spiritual; man-made or self-afflicted. Government inspired or satanic attack. No matter how it comes or how it operates, its aim is to stop God's agenda and the happiness of the saints. The remedies can be inferred from how the Pilgrim Fathers handled them in their own time and the Holy Spirit direction in the now.
- Be sensitive in the Spirit to get divine directives and direction
- We are not fighting against flesh and blood, Paul left the city [Acts 17:1-10].
- Strategize on the next action prayerfully.
- Re-evaluate yourself and know any area of weakness that contributed to the hindrance.
- Ask God for forgiveness and strength to move ahead.
- Pray and pray. Do not give up. Hindrances are part of the Christian test.
They are time-based but God is above all.
