Celebrating Friendship - CHEERS TO ME contest

Cheers to you, cheers to me!

We can all be very proud of a fellow Hiver, @edenmichelle, aka EGGSTA, singer and DJ/producer, whose latest song Cheers went right to number one on our local radio station, East Coast Radio, and will be used as their anthem for the rest of the year!

Remarkable achievement, and well-deserved, for this hard-working young singer!

I've been full of moans and groans about aches and pains lately, but today was a day of celebration as both hubby have escaped unscathed, and are rearing to leave for the Netherlands to see our son in three weeks' time!

Our friends @artywink and her hubby Peter invited us to a lunch date at one of our favourite places, in the Valley of a Thousand Hills, The Stonehouse Garden Shop & Cafe.

I've said it before, but they do make the very best pizzas with the crispiest paper-thin bases and delicious toppings; all named after flowers, it is smack bang in the midst of a nursery after all!
There is an Iris Margherita, Protea, Orchid, Daisy, Bougainvillea, Gardenia; the list goes on!

I chose the Viola - Bacon bits, Danish Feta Cheese Red Wine reduction, and the very best fresh Basil Pesto, while @artywink's hubs went for the Azalea - Black Olives, Danish Feta, Oregano, Anchovy Fillets, and Artichoke.

Our spouses each went for the homemade Beef Burgers with Caramelized Onions & Feta and the crispiest crunchiest Potato Fries.

Views of the nursery gardens, the Valley of a Thousand Hills, the warming winter sun, delicious food, and the good company of special old friends, made for a perfect afternoon, just what the doctor ordered after a difficult couple of weeks.
Even these two giant Conifers were hugging.

We said Cheers to a very smooth False Bay Bush Vine Pinotage from the Cape, while the old men enjoyed their beer, I say that tongue-in-cheek, if they're old, then we're not too far behind ;)
