Rosalind Franklin more than just the discoverer of DNA ~Women Wednesdays~

Hello friends of the community @hive-140084, continuing with the thematic Wednesdays dedicated to women. Today I would like to dedicate this article to Rosalind Franklin, a woman who had a short but really intense life. Rosalind was a pure scientist, she lived every minute of her life dedicated to science.

Rosalind Franklin has gone down in history as the discoverer of DNA. Although this fact was not recognized during her lifetime in the way that she should have been. That is why modern feminism uses it for her demands and has turned her into a feminist icon.

I don't know Rosalind Franklin was a feminist or not, but it is clear that she was a woman with clear ideas and a strong personality who did not let others dictate the path she should take in her life. Born in London in 1920 into a wealthy family of bankers, she soon gravitated towards science. She did not follow her family patterns although she was always close to her family.

Her research was focused mainly on the molecular structures of deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA), ribonucleic acid (RNA), viruses, carbon and graphite. Some of her discoveries were recognized during her lifetime, such as those referring to carbo and viruses. Others, such as those referring to DNA, do not.

Be that as it may, this woman who unfortunately had a short life has contributed greatly to the life we know and she did so without following the guidelines set by society. And for the world to progress, we must always have a critical outlook.
