Caring for chickens is really easy; you just have to give them a good place to sleep safely, a dark nest, good food and always clean water. With these four things they will give us their wonderful eggs, the true superfood of humanity. The cheapest and healthiest source of protein on the planet.
But chickens do much more than just lay eggs and are a great help in our vegetable garden. Their droppings are one of the best fertilizers there is, as long as we use them well.
They are also useful for taking advantage of all the food leftovers from the garden that we don't use and that they use as food.
When a harvest is over, we should let them act in the field. With a simple electric fence we can easily control them.
They will till the soil for us and eliminate a lot of crop pests as well as weeds. This will leave our beds disinfected, fertilized and ready for the new planting.
