Loosing the first match in the first German volleyball league
Hey all sports enthusiasts, today I had the honour to witness the first match of our biggest local volleyball club in the first German league.
Since this season Freiburg has another club playing in a first german league. It's the volleyball men's team of FT 1844 Freiburg.
We bought our tickets two weeks ago. It was a good decision as the tickets were sold out one week later. When arriving at the venue people were queuing at the entrance.
The Club found some some new sponsors for this adventure. And I hope for all of them that it will pay out.
The atmosphere was amazing. Over 1200 fans bought their tickets to see the match. The opponent was the team from Friedrichshafen the second best in Germany right now. They won the volleyball champions league some years ago.
Our team lost the match in three sets but played a good volleyball match. We could feel how nervous the players were in the first set. The first two serves went out. From this point they couldn't recover against a top team.
In comparison to football it feels like a big family and everyone helps to support the club.
After the match was played the players started tidying up the venue.
Children entered the arena and started playing volleyball. Fans talked to the players like talking with friends.
I guess it must be really hard to perform as a volleyball player. No one of the players can live from playing volleyball. They all have a job or are students. They have a doctor, an advocate and a financial analyst in the team.

Finally it was an amazing evening with a great team playing good volleyball but unfortunately lost.
