Huckleberry Whiskey Lemonade / Re-blog Lottery

I've started doing these alcohol-related posts because they're fun, but if you didn't know me I'm sure you'd think I'm an alcoholic. While I enjoy alcoholic drinks, I don't actually have them that often. When I do, it takes A LOT to get me drunk. In fact, I've only been drunk once, and it took 32oz of hard liquor to do it. That's a story for another time.

This delicious finding came about from one of those gift cards you get for Christmas, that can be used at seven or eight different places. This one was geared towards eateries and breweries. My wife and I looked up Edge Brewing Company and we were pleased to find out it wasn't far from our house, which meant we didn't have to go downtown and fight with all the idiots in traffic. Score!

We looked online and the menu looked good. They had some interesting dishes, like loaded fries with candied bacon, garlic, parmesan and a balsamic glaze. If you want to drool over food, here's their menu.

We ordered some appetizers and entrees, then ordered some beers. The beer was good. I had a Dunkel that had some deep prune and molasses flavors, and ended on a slightly sweet note. I had already gone through two beers and was only halfway through my meal, when I spotted their huckleberry whiskey lemonade on the mixed drink menu. I ordered it and it was delicious!

As you can see, the alcohol volume is very low. I could drink the whole bottle in one sitting and be fine. What impressed me with this is the whiskey is smooth. REAL smooth. There is no burn to it, the whiskey is prominent from the start, but not so much that it overpowers the lemonade and huckleberry. It finishes with an aftertaste of huckleberry in your mouth, which surprised me.

The bottle only costs about $15, which isn't bad considering I've paid more for a bottle of 44 North Huckleberry Vodka Lemonade and been severely disappointed with how little of the huckleberry you could actually taste. If you're in Idaho or passing through, I'd check out Edge Brewing Company and give this a try. Cheers!

Hidden in my post are two key words. I've bolded the first letter of each word. The rest of the letters are italicized.

The first two people to correctly guess one unique key word will be entered into a drawing for 3 HSBI. If someone guessed a world already correctly, your guess doesn't count and you'll need to guess the other word if it hasn't been correctly guessed yet.

You only get one guess. Multiple guesses will not be counted, and guesses with multiple correct answers will not be counted. Please guess only one word.
