A bit of a Lazy Saturday/Reblog Lottery DUO BONUS !

20240727_231259.jpg

Had a bit of a lazy Saturday, I went to bed fairly late on Friday and so with the kids seeing their mom I figured I could have a nice nap,

Woke up about 5 and then I started to do a bit of work, I printed some stuff and fixed on of my printers but I will get into that a bit later in this post.

What you see above is a lil project I worked on last week.

So I got these extra batteries and charger for a Camera I no longer have, this would be utterly useless to me now but it has a power bank function, the only issue is that the batteries can easily fall out.

Now even though I have a bunch of power banks I felt like I might as well give this thing a use by designing and printing a sleeve to keep the batteries from falling out if I use it on the go.

I took some measurements and in no time I made a simple sleeve, this " power bank" is probably not going to get used 🤣 So I didn't go all out with the design just put 2 holes in it for a bit of air flow for cooling.

40 minutes on the printer and I got my sleeve, it fit like a glove right out the bat.
I printed it out of black PETG a relatively strong material in 3d printing.

pretty nice battery charger now power bank has a usb cable that wraps around for charging, usb c and micro for charging and a usb a out for charging/powering a device

Right above are called temperature towers, see the numbers on the side that is the temperature the hot end is at as it prints each section it can help to determine the best temperature for a specific filament, I was using it as a diagnostic because the quality on my big printer took a hit I was not sure what was happening, I thought maybe the material was the issue, perhaps the settings? After trying things out I suspected the nozzle may have gotten worn, I quickly swapped it out and put in a hardened steel variant instead of the standard brass nozzle it had, was a fairly quick job maybe 15 minutes, I also installed some modifications I printed to hold the printers cables better than stock.

Gave it a bit a clean and powered it up and now it's back to printing beautifully.
3d Printing ain't that easy you have to be able to figure out what is going wrong,
even at work the disabled man I work with is having printer issues I been trying to figure that out for him for a while to no avail but I think I finally figured out what is the issue and next week I should have him back to printing quality.

  • Leverage is a great tool for losing money fast.
  • Numismatics for the lows stick to smart stacking baby.
