Weekly Development Updates for D.BUZZ - Today: More with Hashtags and Usernames

What's good, friends?

There is no one size fits all when it comes to hashtags.

Let's start off with defining a hashtag. It is a word or a phrase, preceded by a hash or pound sign, used on social media to identify messages on a specific topic and categorize posts. Hah! Now, let's get into the specifics of hashtags. There's no one size fits all when it comes to hashtags. It is important for brands and individuals to create their own hashtags that work best for them. Hashtags are the best way to categorize pictures and videos for social media content, and they can also help build an audience. Focusing on the idea of “one size doesn't fit all”. Included in that “one size doesn't fit all” statement are the special characters.

Sometimes you need to use "." or "-", or any other special character in your hashtag to fully express yourself. Up until today, D.BUZZ didn't support special characters and hashtags. But we are happy to say that you can now use special characters on any of your hashtags.

Likewise, users who had a "." in their usernames, had difficulties logging into our platform. Again we address this and now users who have a period in their name can login with ease.

Lastly, this week, we also did a bunch with security, namely, SSL redirection for non-HTTPS links. We hope this will help make the web a little bit safer one bit of code at a time.

Also, just a heads up, we are focusing on a few big things. As such, Tuesday development updates may be lite for the next few weeks. If all goes well however, you'll be excited when you read what we got in store for you!
