What's Buzzing Friends...

The way you greet people can depend on the type of person you are, more over, there are lot of different ways to greet people. Some people will wave hello from afar, while others will give high-fives or a pat on the back. If you’re a monkey on the other hand, you’ll greet others of your kind by sticking your fingers up their nose.

White-faced capuchin monkeys, a type of South American monkey, greet each other by sticking their fingers up each other’s noses. This is a common form of communication and the monkeys use it to determine one another’s mood. Although the face of these creatures is not particularly attractive, they are quite amazing creatures. It does make some of us wonder if we, as a species would be happier if we greeted each other the same way.

This group of white-faced capuchin monkeys have many other strange ways of interacting with each other and showing signs of affection. Such as they pulling each other's hair, and will prying open each other's mouths. all these might seem a bit too much touchy-feely to us, to them however its nice. Who are we to judge how monkeys interact each other... perhaps we could learn a thing or two from our primate distant cousins?
