Hi Friends
You know February was a very bad month for those living in Turkiye. Our mental health was deeply affected by both the gloomy and cold weather in the middle of winter and the earthquake disaster. About 10 days after the earthquake, I and my friend decided to go to Şile city center on a Friday evening to let ourself go. Şile is one of the distinguished districts of Istanbul with its sea, natural and forest areas. Şile, like the most Istanbulians, is among the places we prefer most for the weekend activities. You may have seen it in my previous posts.

Biliyorsunuz ki Şubat ayı Türkiye’de yaşayanlar için çok kötü geçmişti. Hem kışın ortasındaki kasvetli ve soğuk havalar hem de deprem felaketi nedeniyle ruh sağlığımız derin bir şekilde etkilenmişti. Depremden 10 gün sonra felan, kafa dağıtmak için arkadaşımla bir Cuma akşamı Şile merkeze doğru gitmeye karar verdik. Şile gerek denizi gerekse doğal ve ormanlık alanlarıyla İstanbul’un güzide ilçelerinden biridir. Şile, çoğu İstanbul’lu gibi bizim de haftsonu faaliyetleri için en çok tercih ettiğimiz yerler arasındadır. Önceki yazılarımdan da bunu görmüşsünüzdür.
The weather had been a little warm, but windy. In fact, we wanted to have tea and talk somewhere nearby. We could not find a place to park the car due to the starting of weekend and evening hours. So to speak, we got angry and set off towards the Şile city center. After about 45 minutes, we reached the there. Şile city center was more windy and colder here. We parked the car and started walking.
Havalar biraz ısınmıştı ama rüzgarlıydı. Aslında yakın bir yerde çay içip muhabbet etmek istemiştik. Haftasonuna girilmesi ve akşam saatleri olması nedeniyle arabayı park edecek bir yer bulamadık. Tabiri caizse biz de sinirlenip Şile merkeze doğru yola çıktık. Yaklaşık 45 dakika sonra Şile merkeze varmıştık. Burası daha rüzgarlı ve soğuktu. Arabayı park edip yürümeye başladık.
The city center of Şile is like the tourist towns we have seen elsewhere. Even though it's February, I got that summer vibe from the road design, roadside houses and lighting. There was hardly anyone on the road, a few people cooking chestnuts over a barrel and drinking wine. We came to the seaside by walking for about 15 minutes along the road. It was more colder here. On the beach side, there was a group of people making a fire and camping in this cold weather. There is a social facility of Şile Municipality in the seaside where there are fishing boats docked. We went right in to warm up and drink tea.
Şile’nin merkezi bildiğimiz turistik kasabalar gibi. Şubat ayı olmasına karşın, yol dizaynı, yol kenarındaki evler ve ışıklandırmadan o yaz havasını aldım. Yolda hemen hemen kimse yoktu, birkaç kişi bir varilin üstünde kestane pişirip şarap içiyordu. Yol boyunca yaklaşık 15 dakika yürüyerek sahile geldik. Burası daha soğuktu. Sahil tarafında, bu soğuk havada ateş yakıp kamp yapan bir grup insan vardı. Sahilde balıkçı teknelerinin olduğu yerde Şile Belediyesi’nin Sosyal tesisi bulunmaktadır. Isınmak ve çay içmek için hemen içeri girdik.
We sat here for about an hour, drank tea and chatted. Everyone I observed, including my friend, was depressed by the earthquake. When we got outside, the weather had been got colder and the wind stronger. We walked back from the road we came to where we parked the car. We left here wishing to come again in the hot evenings of summer months. All the photos in this post belong to me. Thank you for reading.
Yaklaşık bir saat burda oturduk, çay içtik, muhabbet ettik. Arkadaşım dahil gözlemlediğim herkesin deprem nedeniyle morali bozuktu. Dışarı çıktığımızda hava daha da soğumuş, rüzgar artmıştı. Geldiğimiz yoldan arabayı park ettiğimiz yere kadar geri yürüdük. Yaz aylarının sıcak akşamlarında tekrar gelmek dileğiyle buradan ayrıldık. Bu yazıdaki tüm fotoğraflar bana aittir.
