Another Treasure from the Box: Canadian $1

I opened my box of treasures and pulled out the leather envelope again and discovered Canadian dollars that are no longer in circulation.

I took them outside and took some photos. Living close to the Canadian border, we have used the "Loonie" and "Twoonie" coins. It's sort of nice paying for low-cost items with coins, rather than with bills. But it wasn't always like that. Canada did have one and two dollar bills.

Here are some details of the Canadian $1 note.

It's a handsome note, I like the colors and style. Looks very official, clearly denoting the value of the note.

The back is fascinating: it depicts the logging industry with the river filled with logs manipulated around with tugboats.
