A One HUNDRED Trillion Dollar NOTE

This is a frightening image. No monetary system should be measured in hundreds of trillions of dollars. But that's what happened in Zimbabwe around in 2008.

You can find lots of fake Zimbabwe dollars on eBay, especially the "non-circulating" variety. I have a collection of original (and authentic) "100 Trillion Dollars" from the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe.

Continuing my treck down the fiat rabbit hole, we have arrived at the finale destination of fiat currency, what happens when the printing press goes full BRRRRR. We get hyper-inflation.

Lots and lots of zeros.

As the price for things goes up, I hear people throw that term around "hyper inflation". Most people think that means it'll cost a few hundred dollars to fill the gas tank. That's not hyper-inflation. A gallon of milk i $10. That's not hyper-inflation.

Hyper-inflation is when you need wheelbarrows full of $100T notes to purchase... anything.

This is nothing but a promissory note. Like it literally says "I promise..." LOL.

Who is promising? The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe is not an "I" entity. "I" means a person. Who exactly is promising to pay me (the bearer) ONE HUNDRED TRILLION DOLLARS?

These notes of course are not redeemable for USD. They're not even redeemable for Zimbabwe dollars! So I suppose the "I promise" is an empty promise. Like all fiat money. Try going to a bank and demanding lawful money for your note. It's not going to happen. Can't you read the sign? It says "legal tender" on it.

I notice this note makes NO MENTION of legal or lawful. I think we know why. It's play money.

And similar to play money, the denominations come in a variety of pretty colors. Not very original designs, but lots of pretty colors.

But this play money does have collectors value, they usually go for somewhere between $100 - $200 on ebay.

What is the largest denomination of money in your collection?

Teach Your Children Liberty from Sin

We encourage parents to teach their children principles of Godliness, beginning with the Word and an understanding who God is and what His Son has done to form a relationship with us.

No one can lay a foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, or straw, his workmanship will be evident, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will prove the quality of each man’s work. 1 Corinthians 3:11-13

Teach Your children Liberty from Tyranny

Second to this is the principle of self-determination and freedom, lest we loose the ability to teach our children the first principle in future generations.

Our children read the Tuttle Twin books, specifically to learn libertarian principles, which most people learn later in life. These books are useful for our family, and yours, to teach children concepts that seem complicated, but are made simple in these books. I am an affiliate for Libertas Publishing, your purchase will help our family grow financially.
