1985 1/4oz Silver Engelhard Prospector

This is one of the harder to find Prospector rounds. They are much lower mintage and were only minted in 1985. In my opinion, these are an absolute must if you're an Engelhard fan.

Obverse

The obverse features the iconic Engelhad Prospector design. Many have copied it, but I firmly believe they did it best. This tribute to the American prospector, squatting down in the river and panning for gold is excellent. I hope to be able to do my own panning for gold once the kids get older.

Reverse
In 1985, Engelhard switched designs on the reverse side. Some of their 1oz rounds have the original logo design with the big E on a globe, and some have the eagle on them. Anything after 1985 has just the eagle design. The US Mint could take pointers from Engelhard on how to make a good looking Bald Eagle.

I picked this up for $35. These sold out within maybe 3-5 seconds when they went on sale! While this may increase in value as time passes, I got this merely because it's vintage, cool, and iconic!
