Hay veces que uno no sabe con que uno se va a topar, hace unos días fue la ocasión de esa veces, estaba en el mercado local de donde vivo y conseguí a la madre de una de mis amigas, me acerque a saludarla ella muy gustosa me saludo, me pregunto de como me estaba yendo, honestamente, no es como me vaya mal últimamente pero podríamos decir que me podría estar yendo exponencialmente mejor, así que como es algo típico de la cultura venezolana de arreglarle la vida a las demás personas, me dijo que había una oportunidad de hacer un boceto para un mural y bueno, hemos aquí en este post.
There are times when one does not know what one is going to run into, a few days ago it was the occasion of that time, I was in the local market where I live and I got the mother of one of my friends, I approached her to greet her very gladly I greet me, I wonder how I was doing, honestly, it is not how I am doing badly lately but we could say that I could be doing exponentially better, so as it's something typical of the Venezuelan culture to fix the lives of other people, she told me that there was an opportunity to make a sketch for a mural and well, we have here in this post.
Mi principal intención con este mural era hacer lago alusivo al pueblo donde se hará, no quería hacer personas trabajando y demás, seria uno más del montón, además de promover el movimiento populista que rodea y asfixia tanto al paisa en donde vivo actualmente; quería algo que fuera bonito para sus habitantes, como su iglesia, las cosas que mayormente producen, algo agradable de ver y que no ye de un sermón visual cada vez que pases por allí.
My main intention with this mural was to make a lake allusive to the town where it will be made, I did not want to make people work and others, it would be one of the many, in addition to promoting the populist movement that surrounds and suffocates both the country where I currently live; I wanted something that would be beautiful for it's inhabitants, like it's church, the things that they mostly produce, something nice to see and that is not a visual sermon every time you pass by.
Quise hacer la iglesia buscando que se viera bien hecha, ya para luego hacerla a mi modo; tenia muchos años sin hacer bocetos de estructuras arquitectónicas, fue entretenido pero cansón.

I wanted to make the church looking for it to look well done, and then to do it my way; I had many years without making sketches of architectural structures, it was entertaining but tiring.

Para este punto del dibujo estaba que me agarraba mis cabellos y alármelos , creía que me estaba quedando del asco, que no podía ser digno de un mural pero me recordaba que tenia que esperar cuando me tocara el delineado.
At this point in the drawing I was grabbing my hair and spreading it out, I thought I was getting disgusted, that it couldn't be worthy of a mural but it reminded me that I had to wait when I touched the outline.
Cuando comencé a delinear las hojas, se me esfumo el sentimiento de fracaso, y llego el sentimiento de placer de hacer lo que hago; me gusto mucho como hice las hojas, así que fui haciendo los granos de las mazorcas.
When I started outlining the sheets, the feeling of failure disappeared, and the feeling of pleasure came from doing what I do; I really liked how I made the leaves, so I started making the kernels from the ears.
Acto seguido, era hacer las mazorcas, delinearlas y con algunas líneas hacerle un poco de sombras o quizás profundidad, me agrada el efecto que pude lograr.

Luego, solo quedaba la iglesia, le hice sus pequeños detalles pero nada de lo fuera de lo común, no quería que se viera tan sobre cargado o como si se forzara a verse bien, por eso insinué los ladrillos y demás.
Then, there was only the church, I did its little details but nothing out of the ordinary, I did not want it to look so overloaded or as if it forced itself to look good, so I hinted at the bricks and so on.
Se que no es uno de los mejores dibujos que he hecho en cuanto a técnica, color, sombras, pero no saben lo feliz que estaba al hacerlo y cuando casi lo iba a terminar, porque por primera vez en años, hacia algo que tuviese mi estilo y no sentirme sosa con el mismo, me sentía bien haciéndolo y eso es lo que más me gusto de este dibujo.
I know it's not one of the best drawings I've done in terms of technique, color, shadows, but you don't know how happy I was doing it and when I was almost going to finish it, because for the first time in years, I was doing something that had my style and not feeling dull with it, I felt good doing it and that's what I liked the most about this drawing.
Y voila, una iglesia de pueblo, con el producto que más cosechan, y un atardecer que les representan, todo lo que quería que se viera, gentil, colorido y agradable a la vista, me di por satisfecha, solo queda esperar que les guste a los que les envié el diseño, espero si lo quieran, espero si quedar.
And voila, a village church, with the product they harvest the most, and a sunset that represents them, everything I wanted to see, gentle, colorful and pleasing to the eye, I was satisfied, I just have to hope they like it to whom I sent the design, I hope they want it, I hope stay.
