Hace mucho tiempo existió una sociedad amante de los gatos que deseaban desterrar a los perros, pero un valiente y joven samurái se puso en contra, cortándole la cabeza a su líder, gobernando él haciendo que los perros fueran los mejores amigos del hombre, adiestrándolos y teniéndolos en su hogar. 1000 años después, en el Japón actual empieza una gripe canina, el alcalde Kobayashi impone una ley donde se mande a todos los perros a la isla basura mientras se consigue una cura, cada perro, callejero o casero es enviado a la isla basura para no contagiar a nadie más. Pero el protegido del alcalde no desea abandonar a su perro, así que va en busca de su compañero a la isla basura.

La Isla de perros es una película animada en stop-motion, esto quiere decir que el creador coloca una figura tomando una fotografía, cambiando de posición en cada fotografía, uniéndolas dando como resultado final movimientos corrientes, aparte que en algunas escenas se nota que fueron utilizadas animación 2D que el proceso para hacer eso es casi el mismo. Al explicar esto quiero que entiendan el trabajo que lleva hacer una película como esta, no fueron simplemente clicks en una computadora, es un trabajo limpio y con dedicación que tiene como resultado una gran obra.
Los fondos, los escenarios,incluso los mismos personajes; tanto secundarios como principales, están bien hechos, son coloridos y llamativos. La película tiene bastante color y eso hace que veas cada detalle, que todo esta allí por algo en especifico, no solo para hacer un relleno y llenar espacio. Las fotografías da espacio para entender toda la escena, de cerca, de lejos, de un solo lado, no importa como la mires,siempre sera asombrosa. La historia contada tiene un prologo y tres partes, había leído hace un tiempo que esa es la forma de contar obras japonesas, y dado que la película sucede en Japón, puede que ese sea el porque, me parece un toque bastante creativo.
La película aunque puede tratar de un problema serio, tiene momentos divertidos que combinan con los personajes, sin hacerlo innecesario o repentino, puedes esperar un comentario tonto en cualquier momento porque sucede de forma natural. El creador de la película es Wes Anderson, mismo creador de Mr Fox y, para los que no han visto esa película, es también hecha en stop-motion, es increíble el trabajo de este director, la dedicación que le tiene a sus obras es de admirar y por eso hablo de esta película ahora, porque merece tener más relevancia de la que ya tiene y nunca ser olvidada.
The Isle of Dogs is an animated stop-motion film, this means that the creator places a figure taking a photograph, changing position in each photograph, joining them resulting in common movements, apart from the fact that in some scenes you can see that they were used 2D animation that the process to do that is almost the same. The story told has a prologue and three parts, I had read a while ago that this is the way to tell Japanese works, and since the film takes place in Japan, that may be why, it seems to me a quite creative touch.
Although the movie may deal with a serious problem, it has funny moments that match the characters, without making it unnecessary or sudden, you can expect a silly comment at any time because it happens naturally. The creator of the film is Wes Anderson, the same creator of Mr Fox and, for those who have not seen that film, it is also made in stop-motion, the work of this director is incredible, the dedication he has to his works is to admire and that is why I am talking about this film now, because it deserves to have more relevance than it already has and never be forgotten.
