¡Hola, gente de internet! Todos sabemos que el arte es subjetivo, y por esa razón es que lo que a algunos les puede parecer hermoso o inspirador, a otros simplemente les causa repeluz, por eso, en esta ocasión les traigo lo que creo que son: Las Estatuas Más Extrañas y Aterradoras del Mundo.
Hello internet people! We all know that art is subjective, and for that reason is that what some may find beautiful or inspiring, others simply find it repellent, so this time I bring you what I think they are: The Strangest Statues and Terrifying Worlds.
La mujer gigante de Hamburgo
The giant woman of Hamburg
Esta impresionante escultura tiene unos cuatro metros de altura por 20 de largo, estuvo 10 días en una exposición de arte en el lago Binnenalster en Hamburgo. La obra fue diseñada por el artista Oliver Voss, quién luchó contra trámites burocráticos para instalar la obra en el lago como una forma de crear consciencia ecológica, y de mantener las aguas limpias para poder disfrutar de ellas como lo hace «la rubia gigante».
This impressive sculpture is about four meters high by 20 long, it spent 10 days in an art exhibition on Lake Binnenalster in Hamburg. The work was designed by the artist Oliver Voss, who fought against red tape to install the work in the lake as a way to create ecological awareness, and to keep the waters clean to be able to enjoy them as "the giant blonde" does.
La cabeza está sostenida por piezas flotantes, y las rodillas fueron estabilizadas con boyas y sacos de piedras.
The head is supported by floating pieces, and the knees were stabilized with buoys and bags of stones.
Sé que su sentido ecológico es fascinante, pero en mi opinión personal... no me hubiese gustado navegar en ese lago, y mucho menos darme un baño en él, al menos mientras la escultura estuviese allí.
I know its ecological sense is fascinating, but in my personal opinion ... I would not have liked to sail in that lake, much less take a bath in it, at least while the sculpture was there.
Un caballo diabólico/A devil horse
Esta estatua se encuentra en el aeropuerto de Denver, que es bastante conocido por tener supuestamente, símbolos apocalípticos e illuminatis. Mide unos nueve metros de altura y tiene ojos rojos (los cuales se encienden como bombillas durante la noche) se dice que esta estatua hace referencia a uno de los cuatro caballos del apocalípsis.
This statue is located in the Denver airport, which is quite known for supposedly having apocalyptic and illuminati symbols. It's nine meters tall and has red eyes (which light up like light bulbs at night). People said to refer to one of the four horses of the apocalypse.
Nadie ha confirmado esta afirmación, pero existe una anécdota oscura en torno a esta obra, y es que su creador, Luis Jiménez, murió en el 2006 mientras la construía, pues una de las piezas cayó sobre su pierna, causándole una hemorragia.
No one has confirmed this statement, but there is a dark anecdote about this sculture: its creator, Luis Jiménez, died in 2006 while building it, as one of the pieces fell on his leg, causing a hemorrhage.
El devorador de niños
Esta figura inquietante no es en realidad una estatua, sino una escultura que está en la cúspide de una fuente, se encuentra en la ciudad de Berna, Suiza, y ha permanecido allí por más de 500 años.
This haunting figure is not actually a statue, but rather a sculpture that stands on top of a fountain, found in the city of Bern, Switzerland, and has remained there for more than 500 years.
Su nombre es Kindlifresserbrunnen, que significa: El devorador de niños. Fue construida por el escultor, Hans Gieng, entre 1545 y 1546. Con el pasar de los siglos, nadie ha podido determinar el motivo de su creación, sin embargo, la gente ha formulado sus propias hipótesis que van desde que, simplemente tenía la finalidad de asustar a los niños, hasta que era un insulto a los judíos de esa época, los cuales llevaban un sombrero similar al de la escultura.
It´s name is Kindlifresserbrunnen, which means: The Child Eater. It was built by the sculptor, Hans Gieng, between 1545 and 1546. Over the centuries, no one has been able to determine the reason for its creation, however, people have formulated their own hypotheses that range from simply having the purpose of scaring children, until it was an insult to the Jews of that time, who wore a hat similar to the one in the sculpture.
Ferryman’s End
La estatua representa a un hombre cadavérico, subido a una barca que se hunde, aunque otras personas lo interpretan como un zombie que va emergiendo del pantano. Está ubicada en el parque de esculturas hindúes Victoria´s Way, de Irlanda. En cualquier caso, se dice que representa al individuo que va perdiendo contacto con la realidad.
The statue represents a cadaverous man, climbed into a sinking boat, although other people interpret it as a zombie emerging from the swamp. It's located in the Victoria's Way Hindu Sculpture Park in Ireland. In any case, its said that it represents the individual who is losing contact with reality.
El gigante de Budapest/
The giant of Budapest
Este pavoroso gigante que parece emerger de la tierra, es obra del artista Ervin Loranth Hervé. Él decidió llamar «Popped Up» que significa algo así como «aparecido» en español. Aunque parece ser de piedra o concreto, la escultura está hecha de poliestireno y por lo tanto es mucho más ligera de lo que se percibe a simple vista.
This terrifying giant that seems to emerge from the ground, is the work of the artist Ervin Loranth Hervé. He decided to call it "Popped Up." Although it appears to be made of stone or concrete, the sculpture is made of polystyrene and is therefore much lighter than meets the eye.
Está ubicada en la plaza Széchenyi en Budapest, Hungría y estuvo exhibida en el 2014 como atractivo principal durante la feria de arte contemporáneo.
It is located on Széchenyi Square in Budapest, Hungary and was exhibited in 2014 as a main attraction during the contemporary art fair.

Sí, no estás viendo ni interpretando mal, se trata de una fuente que simula mantener suspendido en el aire un popo gigante. Muy extraño, ¿cierto?
Yes, you are not seeing or misinterpreting, it is a fountain that simulates a giant poop suspended in the air. Very strange, right?
Está ubicado en la ciudad de Ponta Grosa, Brasil, y costó 100 mil reales, no obstante, un vándalo anónimo, al que no le gustó mucho este tipo de arte, le prendió fuego, y la estructurase se dañó tanto que finamente tuvieron que derribarla.
It is located in the city of Ponta Grosa, Brazil, and cost 100 thousand reais, however, an anonymous vandal, who did not like this type of art very much, set it on fire, and the structure was damaged so much that they finally had to tear it down.
Monumento invertido/Inverted monument
Esta rarísima estatua se encuentra en Australia, y representa al teniente Charles Joseph La Trobe. Su creador es Charles Robb, quien asegura que decidió presentarla de esta forma para fomentar la idea de que las universidades deben dar la vuelta a las ideas, como el teniente, que estableció la Universidad de Melbourne.
This very rare statue is found in Australia, and represents Lieutenant Charles Joseph La Trobe. Its creator is Charles Robb, who says that he decided to present it in this way to promote the idea that universities should turn ideas around, like the lieutenant, who established the University of Melbourne.
