From my observations of the cousin species, Argiope lobata, the predation behaviours are exact to what you've described. I think it's universal among the Argiope genus, possibly among the subfamily, too. And, minus a few fine details in the behaviour, it's broadly the behaviour across all orb-web spiders in the family.

I didn't know about the stimulus triggers, however. That is fascinating and, in hind sight, makes a lot of sense. I wonder if these are true for many web-dwellers. From watching button spiders, I've noticed a similar reaction to certain prey movements on the web and once caught and wrapped. To a further similar degree, it's the same with the funnel nursery-web spiders, Euprosthenops.
