Splinterlands Social Media Challenge | Victory after losing dozens of battles!

Namaste to all the warriors of Splinterlands!🙏

This week was a lot of fun after coming to the Bronze League, although now that the difficulty has increased, I have been losing several battles in a row. In the beginning, losing these continuous battles was a horrible feeling, but then I took it a little seriously and started understanding where the problem was happening.

As I said in my first blog a few days ago "This game is so amazing that even a child can play it. But to win, you will have to play with your intelligence and cleverly make strategies." Till now I was taking it lightly, but after losing so many battles continuously, I geared up and then my phase started. 😎

This is my entry to the weekly social media challenge For this week's social media challenge, I have chosen my first victory after losing dozens of battles in the Bronze League.

It was not necessary to choose only the winning battle for this challenge. Important is to share the most remarkable moments and they can happen even in a losing battle. But since I am still understanding this game, for me the reward of learning anything comes only after winning the battle. Maybe in the future, I might discuss a lost battle with you, if I learned anything great from it. :)

Like I said, after losing a lot of battles in a row I thought maybe I needed some better cards. Because most of my opponents had one or more better cards in every battle. So I rented 2 cards of a different element from Monster Market.

Let's now discuss my most remarkable Splinterlands moments.

The total mana cap for this battle was 26, including the summoner's mana cost.

Summonerdetails
I chose the summoner of the Earth element whose name is Obsidian and mana cost was 4. This Summoner will provide +1 magic attack to all friendly magic attack monsters.
Rule set (Maneuvers)Meaning
In this rule set, all units (monsters) gain reach.

This was the first time I chose a summoner of Earth element because now I have to learn about other elements as well. The reason behind choosing Obsidian as my summoner was that the 2 monsters I rented both belonged to the Earth element and also had magic powers.

Monsters on the battlefield

1st position (Lord Thanalor)Ability
This monster has a mana cost of 12, is a level 1 card, and he has this Amplify ability which increases Magic Reflect, Return Fire, Thorns, Corrosive Ward, and Retaliate Damage to all enemy units (monsters) by 1.

2nd position (Zebajin)Ability
Mana cost of this monster is 7, is also a level 1 card, and its ability is Armored Strike which means this unit (monster) gets an additional melee attack using its armour stat.

3rd position (Nimbledook Ranger)Ability
Mana cost of this monster is 3, is a level 1 card too, and its ability is Immunity which means this unit is immune to negative status effects.

I created my team by using all my mana caps with these monsters.

Now I will take you to my battle!

Round 1

This screenshot is just before the one-on-one battle starts. When all monsters got rulesets as well as Summoner's powers, since my opponent had the power to reduce one health and one magic from each of my monsters, he did his job and each of my monsters lost one health and one magic. But since my Summoner had the power to add a magic attack, my monsters regained their initial magic attack. After which now it was the turn of the monsters to fight.

It is true that after losing many previous battles in a row and seeing so many monsters in front of me in this battle, I was not very positive. But it is also true that I believed in these new monsters I rented. Frankly, I would have won or lost this battle, but I was going to learn a lot.

Round 1.5

The first round had just started when my first 2 monsters attacked one after the other and destroyed the opponent's first monster. And here I discovered a special feature of my second position monster. It made a normal attack for the first time and then made another attack with its armour to knock out the monster. This was really a great move.

Round 2

After this, at the beginning of the second round, my first monster reduced 3 health of the opponent's first monster in a single hit and destroyed it. He made a similar attack in the first round also, the reason for which I don't know, If anyone knows how he managed to reduce 3 health of a monster in a single blow, please let me know. Putting aside how it happened, this attacking ability proved to be very beneficial for me and despite having fewer monsters, I got an edge in this battle.

Round 3

The opponent's current first-positioned monster had True Strike ability which is really a useful ability because its attack never goes to waste. But today, after so many days, my monsters were also stronger and with their good health and better abilities, at the beginning of the third round, my first monster again destroyed the opponent's True Striker in one blow. Now the opponent had only 2 monsters left.

Round 4

This was the first round of the entire battle when the opponent did not lose any of his monsters and the reason for this was the opponent's current first monster and its Thorns ability. From the beginning, I was fighting without fear with this ability because Thorn's ability does 2 melee damage back to the attacker only when there is a melee attack and none of my monsters had melee attack power.

But I forgot, my second-position monster had Armored Strike ability which provides the monster an additional melee attack using its armour stat. Due to this, the opponent's current first-position monster with Thorns ability dealt a little damage to my monster.

Round 5

Now, due to being outnumbered and because my monsters were still too strong, at the beginning of the fifth round, the opponent's last strong monster with thorns ability was also knocked out.

Now there was nothing special left in this battle, in the next single attack, the opponent's last monster was also destroyed and I won the battle after dozens of defeats.

Conclusion and what I learned!

Difficulties will also increase with each increasing level, so it is very important to have strong monsters accordingly. Also, it is important to understand the abilities better, because every ability and power has some limitations, knowing those limits of abilities and powers will be very helpful in making us a stronger and better team.

Armored Strike ability is really an amazing ability just like double strike and True Strike ability which I personally like very much. Till now I thought that death and fire elements are the most powerful but it is not so. The monsters of every element are amazing. Understanding the opponent before the start of the battle, making a strategy accordingly and selecting monsters is an important part.

You can enjoy my entire battle here
