Chaos Legion - Stop a Moment to Appreciate the Art! (+ Giveaway Winner)

In the euphoria of #Splinterlands $VOUCHER airdrop, let's all stop for a moment and appreciate the Chaos Legion artworks shown thus far.

First and foremost, these are my takes and comments regarding the Chaos Legion artworks we've seen so far either in @Splinterlands official blog, the new in-game Shop page, or even shared during past AMAs. I do not in any way intended to critize or mock the artworks. Far from that, I actually am very impressed with the artworks. What's your take about it? Please leave comments below and discuss.

Click on the Shop page in-game, and you'll see the new Splinterlands X Chaos Legion logo, along with its symbol and PRE-SALE EVENT words underneath. Would you just look at the beauty of chaos with galaxy background and asymmetric design. Not mentioning the chaotic fonts used to spell the Chaos Legion word itself.

On the far left we have the most desired item in the game right now. Yes, it's the Chaos Legion card pack. With the crystal-ice cover, the fiery content, and the slithering galaxy mist (?) circling it, weve seen chaos itself manifested!

The middle one looks like a Dark Energy Crystal wrapped with a kind of Chaos plant, containing its energy flare. This icon can be found beside the Exclusive In-Game Title (THE LEGIONNAIRE) explanation in Splinterlands Shop page.

On the right we have something which looks like a spirit inside a crystal, held by some claws. The spirit looks like it's waiting for the moment it will be released. This icon can be found beside the Design a Legendary Summoner explanation in Splinterlands Shop page. I personally think this is very suitable to express the perks, the unknown legendary summoner in spirit form is still embedded within a crystal, waiting for the chosen one(s) to design its form.

Next let's talk about Dr. Blight illustration here. I couldn't help to find some differences between the Dr. Blight on the stairs above (let's call him Blight-One) with the Dr. Blight animation below (and we'll call him Blight-Two).

1. Mask type, Blight-One seems to have longer & more horizontal mask, whether Blight-Two seems to have the shorter mask which pointed downwards.

2. Belt size & position, Blight-One looks like he just came out from the toilet hurriedly and did not manage to properly wear the belt. Whereas Blight-Two has the smaller belt which neatly worn so that the buckle is perfectly at the front-center.

3. Glove thickness, Blight-Two seems to have thicker gloves than Blight-One. Or it may be only my imagination.

4. Lantern light color, one has slightly orange-ish whereas the other is pink-ish hue.

5. Finally this is the most important. Blight-One seems to be shorter than Blight-Two. Look at the number of buttons on their jackets under the belt. Blight-One has only 5 buttons under the belt, whereas Blight-Two has a whooping 7 buttons there. Assuming distance between buttons about 100mm, then the height difference will be around 200mm (almost 8").

I'm very excited to see above artwork, as it shows multiple silhouette of splinters. From left to right:

  • I'll guess that the biggest horny (pun intended) badass is a Fire splinter.
  • The next one looks like a summoner from Water splinter, based on the magic wand he/she held.
  • Next we have a floating splinter, also looks like from Water splinter. Some kind of dragonfish maybe?
  • In the middle we have a shortie which looks like he'll fit in as Earth splinter, maybe with fast speed and low health, typical cannon damage dealer.
  • Next in line we have something similar to an armored warrior, which hints him/her as a Life splinter.
  • Another magic splinter, looks like from the Death splinter (look at her spiky shoulder, reminded me of Maleficent).
  • Last but not least, a not-so-proportional Dragon splinter. I hope this one has the Flying ability, though. Not like another badass Robo Dragon which cannot fly.

Oh yeah, lots of bats in the artwork, too. Bat is also used in the horizontal divider design below. Reminded me of Robert Pattinson. But I love the divider, it shows Chaos, unevenness, and asymmetric beauty.

Lastly, let's take a moment to adore this beautiful multiple Chaos Legion monsters logo. Can't wait to play the starter deck!
