Brawl Economy Update

The Gladiators are restless tonight. Word on the street is the Guild Masters are holding a Frightening Organization of Menacing Channelers (FOMC) meeting to decide on adjustments to the rules & regulations of Guild Brawls. Battle Mages are holding their breath to see if the changes will make it easier for Guilds to gain glory & riches through the purity of savage combat!

It's hard to believe just over a year has passed since we first introduced Guild Brawls to the game! In that time we've seen a lot of exciting matches featuring the exclusive Brawl-specific Gladius card set, and guilds have won many Crowns to upgrade their buildings.

However, it has become clear that some economic parameters are in need of tweaking. After much feedback and debate within the community, we have decided to make 3 small changes which we hope will provide a better overall experience for Brawl participants.

These changes have the following goals:

  • Decrease the disparity in Brawl prizes between top performing guilds and lower performing guilds.
  • Better incentivize guilds to move up to higher Brawl Tiers.

1. New Arena Rewards Multiplier

This is the maximum Rewards Multiplier for each Arena level. Up to this many Crowns will be added to a Brawl’s total prize pot for each guild member that wins or draws at least 1 battle.

At the end of each Brawl, the pot (rounded to the nearest Crown) is split between the winning guilds.

LevelCurrent ValueNew Value
1x 1.0unchanged
2x 2.0x 1.5 (reduced)
3x 2.5unchanged
4x 3.0unchanged
5x 3.5x 4.0 (increased)
6x 4.0x 4.5 (increased)
7x 5.0x 5.5 (increased)
8x 5.5x 6.0 (increased)
9x 6.0x 7.0 (increased)
10x 7.0x 8.0 (increased)

2. Reduce Top 3 Bonus Crown Amount

Right now, 30% of the total Crown pot for each Brawl gets allocated to the top 3 winning guilds (15% to 1st, 10% to 2nd, 5% to 3rd).

The remaining 70% is split among all guilds in the Brawl (including the top 3), proportionally according to each guild's pts score vs. the sum of all pts for the Brawl. This results in the top 3 getting far more Crowns than 4th+ finishers, so much so that it is often better to be top 3 in a lower Tier than to be 4th in a higher Tier.

Crown Pot AllocationCurrent ValueNew Value
1st place bonus15%6% (reduced)
2nd place bonus10%4% (reduced)
3rd place bonus5%2% (reduced)
All guilds70%88% (increased)

This will result in a smoother Crown distribution among participating guilds, with less disparity between the top 3 and everyone else.

3. Increase Crown cost of high level Guild Buildings

The effect of the above 2 changes will be to increase the overall number of Crowns distributed, reduce the Crown earnings of top guilds, and increase the Crown earnings of lower placed guilds.

To absorb the extra Crowns in the system, we will increase the Crown costs of constructing level 8+ Guild Buildings. This adjustment will apply to all 3 Brawl-specific buildings (Arena, Barracks, and Store).

Build LevelCurrent Crown CostNew Crown Cost
817001850
922502800
1035004200

Thus it will cost an additional 1400 Crowns to fully max a building, or an additional 4200 Crowns to max all 3, an increase of about 14%.

Note that with all these changes taken together, it should take less time for an average guild to max out all buildings, and slightly longer for a top guild.

When will this take effect?

The Guild Masters have decided these changes will become effective on April 30 EDT, during the results phase of the current Brawl cycle. This means guilds will start seeing the impact of these changes in the next Brawl.

After the change, we will monitor the next several Brawl cycles to judge the impact. Further adjustments may be done if deemed necessary.

Happy Brawling! If you're not already in our game Discord, feel free to stop on by and say hello, our awesome community will give you a warm welcome.
