Five of the best for new players - Fire

Hey guys,

I thought i would start my blogging journey discussing some of what i consider to be staples for anyone starting out in the Fire Splinter. I have found that Fire works particularly well early days if you get your setup right you should be able to post a decent winrate.

So without further adieu here are my selections for anyone new to the game wanting some tips on which cards are worth considering. It should be noted i have gone with the very beginning and excluded Yodin as lets face it he is getting very pricey!

As far as summoners go i would suggest Malric more often than not. There may be certain specific situations to use Pyre but Malric works well when combined with some other Fire cards and gives all your melee creatures +1 Attack. I wouldnt bother with the Qid Yiff summoner virtually ever so Malric is your man.

In low mana games Cerberus is the pick he heals himself and is very low cost for what he does. He is free with the game and will help you through many games especially those where 4 Mana maxed monsters can be chosen. Sometimes i will even throw him in the backline in a 20 Mana type game to absorb damage and heal himself before he hits the frontline.

Living Lava - This Tank is your ticket out of bronze, word of warning dont bother with him if you strongly suspect a magic heavy opponent - he works best when you have a heap of melee and ranged banging into him while your backline destroys the enemy! He gets old by the time you hit the high levels of Gold but as a free card with the game at level 1 im not sure there is a better tank.

Next up - Serpentine Spy!

Super quick and when combined with Malric will hit their backline with his Opportunity skill at least once more often than not. He gets better as you level him up but for now he is a staple in any Malric style deck in Bronze and SIlver.

This last one is hard as there are quite a few worth mentioning but considering we are talking early game there are certain games this guy can come in super handy

Fineas can be put in second position behind your Lava to absorb and put out a heap of damage. He is only viable in high mana games more often than not but with a high health level he is particularly good to combo with Cerberus if you have a game with shields disabled.

Thats it guys 5 of the best for fire early in the game - An honourable mention to Ant Miners and Ettin Spearman

Also the Yodin style deck is completely different to this and these really only work in a Malric aggressive fast rush style strategy.

Hopefully this helps you guys! Let me know if you would have something else in the top 5 for Fire when you started out!

Cheers Spikey
