Maximizing damage on the battlefield

Hello everyone, welcome to another post about Splinterlands. In this post I will talk about a tricky strategy but that is very effective on the battlefield, in the past I didn't use it but on my journey in Splinterlands I found several opponents who used this same strategy and it always irritated me because they ended up playing my attack monsters against themselves, so why get angry when you can enjoy the same strategy?

This is a very simple strategy and it will revolve around 3 abilities, they are Thorns, Return Fire and Magic Reflect, besides them there is also the amplify ability that I will talk about later.

The strategy is focused on using the attack of the opponent's monsters against themselves and each of the 3 abilities mentioned above will affect a specific type of attack.

The Thorns ability will be used against melee attacks and whenever a melee monster hits a monster that has the Thorns ability, the attacking monster will suffer 2 physical damage.

The Return Fire ability will be used against ranged attacks and whenever a ranged monster hits a monster that has the Return Fire ability, the attacking monster will take 1/2 of the damage dealt as physical damage.

The Magic Reflect ability will be used against magic attacks and whenever a monster with a magic attack hits a monster that has the Magic Reflect ability, the attacking monster will take 1/2 of the damage dealt as magic damage.

These are treacherous abilities that will make your opponent very angry during the battle, but it's not over yet because they can get even stronger when combined with the Amplify ability.

The Amplify ability will increase damage dealt by Thorns, Return Fire and Magic Reflect abilities by +1. It may seem like a small amount, but it makes a huge difference in battle.

To show how powerful and useful these abilities are I will demonstrate them through battle, but in this example I will only use the Thorns ability and the Magic Reflect ability.

Watch the Battle

In this battle I used the summoner Mylor Crowling which will grant the Thorns ability to all my cards, this means that my opponent's melee cards will suffer damage after attacking my cards.

I also used the Failed Summoner card that has Magic Reflect, with these 2 cards I now have an advantage over melee and magic cards, but that doesn't mean that victory is guaranteed.

Lastly, I increased the damage done by the Thorns and Magic Reflect abilities with the Amplify ability through the Queen Mycelia card.

Now my whole strategy is ready, my opponent also chose the land deck and in this battle there is the Taking Sides rule that does not allow neutral cards.

After seeing the cards my opponent chose I soon realized that I had made the right decision with my strategy because he only had melee and magic cards, so my abilities Thorns and Magic Reflect will be very useful in battles.

I don't have much attack on my cards and my opponent also had great cards so the battle wasn't easy but with the strategy I choose not having much attack won't be a big problem because most of my damage will be through my abilities.

The battle wasn't easy and it took longer than I expected but in the end I managed to achieve victory, but I have to admit it was a close one.

This is a simple but very effective strategy, I hope you enjoyed it. If you want you can also look and participate in my daily giveaway that can be found on my blog. Bye!
