Flying to Victory

Hello everyone, welcome to another post of mine about Splinterlands. This will be another post about battle rules, this week's rule will be Earthquake, under this rule cards with the Flying ability will shine on the battlefield.

What is the Earthquake rule?

The Earthquake rule is very simple to explain and just with its name you can get a little idea about it. When Earthquake is active on the battlefield, all monsters that do not have the Flying ability will suffer 2 physical damage, it is important to remember that the damage is physical so if any of your monsters have the Shield ability it will only suffer 1 damage of the Earthquake rule.

In this type of rule, time will be essential since at the end of each round Earthquake will be activated and all monsters that do not have the Flying ability will suffer damage, so 2 simple strategies would be to use the maximum number of cards that have the Flying ability or to run out with the battle as fast as possible focusing mainly on dealing damage.

For those who don't know the Flying ability I will show and describe it below:

The Flying ability will increase the chances of your monster dodging melee and ranged attacks from cards that don't have the Flying ability by +25%, this means that if your opponent's monster doesn't have the Flying ability and attacks your monster that has the Flying ability, your monster will have a high chance to dodge the attack. Remembering that speed is also very important to dodge attacks so the higher the speed the greater the chances of dodging and if combined with the Flying ability then the chances will be very high.

In short, the Flying ability will benefit you a lot against the Earthquake rule and also dodging your opponents' attacks.

Another very useful strategy is to use the summoner Brighton Bloom from the dragon deck, it is a rare summoner that will grant the Flying ability to all your monsters so you won't need to worry about selecting monsters with the Flying ability since all your monsters will possess it when you use the summoner Brighton Bloom.

In my case, I always like to experiment with new strategies and I don't always have the cards available that I want to use at the time of battle, so for the battle demonstration I will follow the simple strategy of trying to end the battle as quickly as possible trusting on my attack power.

BATTLE

Watch the Battle

In this battle my focus was to defeat my opponent as quickly as possible before I received too much damage from the Earthquake rule, so I used powerful monsters with a good amount of attack and also used the summoner General Sloan to increase the ranged attack of my monsters at +1.

Only Celestial Harpy had the Flying ability so she wouldn't be affected by the Earthquake rule but she was in second position and didn't have much health so even with that advantage she could still be easily defeated by my opponent.

In battle, in addition to the Earthquake rule, it also had the Close Range rule that allows monsters with ranged attack to attack in the first position, this is already a great advantage for me since most of my monsters are ranged attack.

My goal was to end the battle as quickly as possible and as soon as I saw my opponent's cards I immediately thought that I made the right decision since most of them had low health and didn't have the Flying ability.

After the first round I was already sure that victory was certain and a few attacks later in the second round ended the battle and I managed to achieve victory quickly and gloriously.

This is a simple but very effective strategy, I hope you enjoyed it. If you want you can also look and participate in my daily giveaway that can be found on my blog. Bye!
