Hello all Splinterlands friends,
This is my entry for the Battle Mage Secrets challenge.
This week's theme is the Briar Patch (Thorns) ruleset, so I want to share a battle with it.
The battle ruleset
- 28 mana cap
- Ruleset - Up to Eleven and Briar Patch
- Splinter - Fire, Water, Earth and Death Splinter can be used in this battle
With these rulesets, every time melee monsters attack, they will get 3 damages in return. So I try to avoid using melee monsters in this battle.
My lineup
Finally, I decided to use Water Splinter (again :D) in this battle without any melee monster in the attack position.
Summoner | Kelya Frendul - to have +1 speed and can make the early attack to enemy team to take the advantages | |
---|---|---|
1st position | Venari Marksrat - this is the Martyr monster and I put him in 1st position to raise the power of the monster next to him | |
2nd position | Djinn Oshannus - a high speed and health monster. He has Void and Phase abilities that help him to take less damage from enemy magic attacks. | |
3rd position | River Hellondale - he has Resurrect ability and he can revive Venari Marksrat one more time | |
4th position | Musa Saline - after each death, she increases her health by 1 and destroys all the targeted monster with Shatter | |
5th position | Swamp Spitter - an important monster in this battle with Repair ability to repair 2 armors to 1 attacked monster. | |
6th position | Disintegrator - to reduce all enemy melee monsters attack by 1 if my enemy chooses to use melee monsters in this battle |

- My enemy chose Brewmaster Abraxas as the summoner to combine Fire and Earth Splinters in the team lineup. Immolation is a powerful monster with 4 magic attacks and Scavenger, with the support from Fungus Flinger. However, Immolation costs 12 mana and my enemy could only use low-mana monsters at the backline. But the enemy wisely chose non-attack low-mana monsters next to Ava the Undaunted and got 3 ranged attacks from her with Weapon Training. Indeed, it was a great combination to ignore the effect of 2 rulesets.
- In round 1, the Martyr monster from each side was killed. Especially, my Venari Marksrat was killed twice after being revived and increased all stats of Djinn Oshannus by 2.
- In round 2, no monster was killed, so Immolation could not increase his health. While Djinn Oshannus stayed strong on the battlefield with Void and Phase, Immolation only had 2 HP left
- In round 3, Djinn Oshannus finished Immolation. The biggest threat to my team was gone. The backline enemy monsters could not make any scratches to Djinn Oshannus. Even if they could successfully attack him, his armor would be repaired by Swamp Spitter
- Finally, my team won this battle after 6 rounds
That's all for now.
I hope you enjoy this battle and have a nice weekend
