Which Rebellion Cards will be the Most Valuable?

The countdown to December 5th is on, and with less than five days to go, the anticipation for the Rebellion set launch in Splinterlands is reaching a fever pitch. Brace yourselves, fellow players, as this new set is poised to revolutionize our matches with fresh mechanics, innovative abilities, and enticing new summoners.

The impending arrival of the Rebellion set promises a seismic shift in the Modern format, with the Untamed and Dice sets gracefully bowing out to make room for the new wave of cards in the Modern format. For players like myself, who joined the Splinterlands community after the sell-out of Untamed and Dice, the prospect of a meta upheaval is both thrilling and challenging. Familiar strategies will need to be reimagined and adapted to the dynamic landscape of these novel cards.

It's not just a change; it's a golden opportunity. The Rebellion set presents a breath of fresh air not only for seasoned Splinterlands enthusiasts but also for newer players with burgeoning collections. The aftermath of this major transformation in the game opens doors for growth and strategic exploration, especially for those with smaller collections looking to leverage the evolving dynamics.

In this blog post, let's delve into the intriguing task of predicting which cards might emerge as the most valuable in the Rebellion set. Drawing insights from past sets like Chaos and Riftwatchers, where initial card evaluations didn't always align with eventual market values, we recognize the potential for hidden gems waiting to be discovered.

Understanding the new abilities introduced in the Rebellion set is paramount to deciphering the evolving meta:

Armored Strike: This game-changing ability allows a unit to gain an extra melee attack using its armor stat, turning armor into a deadly weapon. Get ready for innovative combat strategies and unique character interactions.

Corrosive Ward: A nemesis to the repair ability, Corrosive Ward inflicts damage to an attacker's armor and reduces it, making repairs futile against the acidic onslaught. Melting armor into acidic goo has never been more satisfying.

Flank: Shifting the dynamics of positioning, Flank bestows the reach ability to the unit in the second position if the unit with Flank is in the first position. Surprise your opponents and strategize with your first two units to bring down the enemy tank effectively.

Look Out: Offering a tactical advantage, Look Out ensures that adjacent allies take reduced damage from attackers with sneak, snipe, and opportunity. It's the perfect defense against foes lurking in the shadows, providing a valuable heads-up to your team.

It is anybody's guess which cards will become most valuable, but here is my take:

Five Dual Splinter Summoners

Fire / EarthWater / DeathEarth / LifeLife / WaterDeath / Fire

Summoners are usually the most expensive cards in the set and for a good reason. Summoners give abilities to the whole team for example Byzantine Kitty is most valuable because of her true strike, plus two speed and tank heal. In the case of these summoners they don't have any abilities. But these will rule in low mana matches because they will be the cheapest at only three mana and they will allow you to combine best monsters from several teams, Prunda Undervesch sound particularly interesting it will allow you to combine water and life splinters into one and bring the best low mana monsters from both! Zeddica also sounds exciting as both Water and Death have some really powerful monsters.

There are also five rare new summoners and one legendary summoner, I am not sure the rare summoners will become the most valuable summoners in the game though in some rulesets Nomos and Reklah will be a must have!

NomosReklah

The new legendary summoner does sound like it will be a very interesting bet to become really valuable:

In the initial days following the launch, chaos will likely reign supreme. Players will grapple with mastering the intricacies of the new cards, discovering strengths, and exploiting weaknesses. Simultaneously, the cards from the Chaos Legion set may experience fluctuations in utility, as new combos emerge and others become obsolete. Prepare for abrupt changes in card prices as the market reacts to the dynamic shifts in gameplay.

For those astute enough to navigate and predict market trends, these early days of Rebellion could prove to be immensely rewarding. Stay vigilant, adapt swiftly, and embrace the exhilarating challenges and opportunities that the Rebellion set brings to the Splinterlands arena. December 5th marks not just a date on the calendar but a momentous chapter in the ever-evolving saga of Splinterlands. Let the Rebellion begin!
