RULESET: Fog of War

All units lose the Sneak, Snipe and Opportunity abilities.

Scattershot still works in this ruleset.

The Strategy

Normally the strategy in the Fog of War ruleset is to use a strong tank that is anti-magic in front and maybe a reach monster and the rest load am the team with magic and ranged monsters.

In this case we have a triple rule set that includes Noxious Fumes and Are you not Entertained rulesets. My gladiators are not strong enough for a champion level battle so I am just going to ignore them on my side and expect that my opponent does the same.

Due to Noxious ruleset I am going to play a zero mana meat shield upfront followed by a one mana anti-magic evasive tank followed by the immune secondary tank Harklaw. I am also going to put in two other immune monsters Revealer and a support monster Venator Kinjo.

A key play here that is essential to my strategy is a Venary Marksrat due to his martyr ability. Marksrat should die from poison after two rounds and give a boost to my secondary tank and the immune magic damage dealer.

The Summoner

Thaddius Brood is a rare death summoner that nerfs the opposing team by taking away one magic attack and one health. In the context of the Fog of War and Noxious Fumes rulesets these both nerfs are very important.

1st Slot - Meat Shield

Corpse Fiend is a good meat shield for this situation as it takes no mana and has base health of two and and melee attack of one and comes with a silence ability.

2nd Slot - Primary Tank

Even with a very low mana of one chaos agent is a great little secondary tank as it comes with backfire, phase and dodge abilities. It has no attack but comes with a base health of four enough to last through two rounds in a poison ruleset if it is not attacked.

3rd Slot - Secondary Immunity Tank

Harklaw is a perfect tank for this ruleset due to poison. It has immunity, demoralize and shield abilities. It comes with a base health of ten, three shield, two speed and three melee attack.

4th Slot - Martyr Monster

Venari Marksrat is particularly useful in this ruleset as it will die from poison and should boost a monster in front of it which is Harklaw giving it another shield health and attack as well as a monster behind it which is Revealer that should gain one more magic attack. This is planned to be a centerpiece of our play.

5th Slot - Immune magic damage dealer

Revealer is very important in this ruleset because of it's immunity and stun abilities. Stun can stun a front tank preventing it from attacking our monster in the first position. It also comes with a base magic attack of two, five health and two speed.

6th Slot - Immune speed control monster

Venator Kinjo is our hide and survive play. It stays hidden until it is the last friendly monster on the battlefield. It has an all important immunity ability for this triple ruleset and it also slows down the entire enemy team making it a great support monster that would last the whole battle.

THE BATTLE

We can see that our opponent brought in a strength oriented team. They have a self healing tank with great health and thorns upfront that also slows down our entire team. They also brought in two immune monsters Harklaw and Revealer. This is a tough battle. Let's see who wins!

In the first round we were able to get a very important stun on their front self healing monster preventing it from healing itself. We did loose our meat shield, but that was totally consistent with my expectations.

In the second round we got another stun which was critical to taking out their self healing tank! We lost our secondary tank and at the start of third round poison got applied so that our martyr monster dies as expected boosting our Harklaw and Revealer

At the start of round four we are clearly starting to pull away:

With our superior health and attack it looks like this is now just a matter of time. Though a miss could change things up still...

There was a miss but it was on their side by their Harklaw resulting in even a more convincing possibility of our victory.

Which led to a victory in round six
