Process

Step 1
Prepare your references.
Having a good reference will make it easier to create an art.

Step 2
Do your rough sketch.
It doesn't have to be detailed. Just use simple lines and shapes.

Step 3
Change the ink from black to blue and turn down the opacity of your rough sketch layer. This will help you focus more on adding details while still seeing the guide underneath.

Step 4
Repeat step 3 and do your final line art. Use a high stabilization brush so your lines will look clean.

Step 5
Fill color flats and separate them by layers so it'll be easier to add shadings and lightings.

Step 6
Do the shadings. Feel your brush strokes. Experiment and be free!

Step 7
Add the lightings! Be sure not to overdo it and just apply the right amount depending on the surrounding and the situation.

Step 8
Color the line art and match the reference's design. This is done by locking the transparent pixels or clipping a layer above it.

Step 9
Add a background.
In this piece, I created a BG by making an outside selection then reverse filling it with a solid color. Then I adjusted the size of that fill and move it a little to the right. I then added a dark blue gradient below it and a white gradient above it. I use a star dust brush to add those little shiny effect. Lastly, I blurred it's edges so it'll look soft.

Step 10
Make final adjustments.
This is optional and will vary from artist to artist.
I adjusted the coolness so it'll look uniform and soft.

BONUS:
I created a more abstract render of it and here it is!

And that's how I did our Ice Pixie Art Entry!
If you have any questions regarding my process, just comment. I'll gladly help!

Thank you so much! 😊
