Share Your Battle Challenge: Mycelic Infantry

Hello Splinters
It has been a busy week with many games played so far. Today also happened to be the day for the end of splinterlands season, and I'm here to present to you my first battle in the new season. This battle came after an announcement has been made for a new battle challenge week having Mycelic Infantry in the spotlight. Please check out the publication in splinterlands community for the requirements of eligibility before presenting your battle. For easy navigation kindly the publication from here

MYCELIC INFANTRY

Mycelic Infantry which according to the description from the splinterlands lore tab are lumbering behemoth fungus. They are considered the least intelligent among the Mycelic family. However, they make strong defense and are always put in the front line. They certainly do have an obvious weakness which is visible in their speed. In other words, they are really slow, though tough.

I have stated a little about the descriptions from the lore tab. If you wish to know more, kindly visit the splinterlands website and navigate to the lore tab of this card. The link to get there is provided above.

A Presentation of Mycelic Infantry Stats

The Image above shows all the stats of this monster including its abilities. This monster is a chaos legion card and as many others of its type, it has an existence of eight levels ranging from one card which makes up level one, to 115 cards which constitute the last level. It also utilizes the melee weapon for attack. Its speed remains the same at all levels, same with its armor, but the health of this card appears different in levels. Each regular of this card is estimated at 20cp. Mycelic Infantry has three abilities but only one exists in all its levels.

Known as shield, This ability reduces damage from melee and ranged monsters.

Giant Killer: This ability does double damage against targets that cost 10 or more mana

Enrage: This ability makes the monster to have an increased melee attack and speed when damaged

Mycelic Infantry in the Peakmonsters Market

The regular Mycelic Infantry in the peakmonsters market is estimated at an average price of $0.130. Over the last 24hrs, 340 of this card have been sold out in a 24hrs total volume of $2.84. The price for this card in gold foil is quite different from that of the regular. According to the same peakmonsters market, the gold foil type has an estimate of $2.4 at level two. In rentals, level one of this card can be gotten at 0.1Dec/day, while the max level is possible at 10Dec/day.

Team Selection

WIZARD-OF-EASTWOOD The choice of a summoner fell on the Wizard of Eastwood. The strategy behind the inclusion of this monster is based on the fact the battle was intended to be physical. ie monsters hitting one another, unlike magic. Since the plan was to rely mostly on melees, there was the need to use a summoner that can help lower the enemy's armor.

MYCELIC-INFANTRY Monster of the week explained already above.

REGAL-PERYTON One thing I have learnt to do is not to rely the game entire plan on a particular attack type. This is the reason for the inclusion of this magic monster. Regal Peryton is good at evading attacks from melee and ranged monsters which makes it a better addition than those other earth element magic monsters.

URAEUS Uraeus had to come in to strike the enemies from behind, an ability is got from being a sneak monster. Its combination with Regal yielded a positive result.

The Strategy Behind the Gameplay

The battle set rules were friendly enough to allow the gameplay exists on neutral ground. The game plan was to enable Mycelic Infantry and Uraeus do the physical damage while Regal does the underground work. Knowing that Mycelic Infantry has what it takes to defend the team, Regal and Uraeus also had it in them to take out the enemies. The removal of the enemy's armor by the summoner made them vulnerable to attack.

To say what seems already obvious, the strategy worked well and the earth side succeeded as the victor.

My Opinion of Mycelic Infantry

This is a monster that has shown high defensive quality. Mycelic Infantry is vulnerable to magic monsters as it has no special ability to shield it from magic attacks. In terms of melee and ranged, it's one of the best and it's quite affordable in the market.

That will be all for this week.

Again, I'm hitting the pause button here for this week. I'd hope to see you next week when I hit the resume button
