Battle Challenge With "River Nymph"

Hello Splinters
I'm most definitely happy to present another blog post on the weekly battle challenge of the splinterlands community. In the spotlight for this week's theme is River Nymph, a monster belonging to the water element. As I always do every week, the link to the publication of this theme is provided here. Visit if you want to participate in the battle challenge for the guidelines required.

RIVER NYMPH

River Nymph known as the respecter of life is famous for its sense of humor. According to the way they were described in the spt lore tab, they tend to aid those in need. Although they are shy and always hide beneath the water's surface, they are fiercely protective of their homes and can do anything in its defense if threatened. There's more to know about this very important card, to learn more, visit the lore tab on the official splinterlands site.

Aside from the ability every level of this card shares in common, the second ability developed at a later level, precisely, the fourth level. The last ability was then developed at the max level. The below section explains the utility of each ability on the battlefield.

This symbol is assigned to the ability "Cleanse" and just as the lore tab explained this monster aids the needy, this ability removes all negative effects on the monster in the first position on the friendly team.

This second ability which got introduced at the fourth level is the "Amplify" ability. Its job is to increase magic reflects, return fire, and thorns damage to all enemy monsters by one

This last ability only exists at the max level of this card and is called "Swiftness". With this ability, all friendly team member gets an increased speed

Team Selection

ALRIC-STORMBRINGER

This summoner is famous for its magic enhancement advantage. It is a rare water summoner that increases magic friendly team damage by one. Here in this battle, the fourth level was used.

WAVE-BROOD This monster draws attention to itself and that is the job of the taunt ability. Here, It is used in the front because even as a ranged monster, it has the close-range ability which enables it to attack from anywhere. It possesses a huge health which help it last longer before being eliminated.

VENARI-WAVESMITH This monster importance can not be ignored. It is both a protector and a fighter. The presence of this monster on the battlefield simply means all friendly monster gains two armor, thanks to the "protect" ability possessed by this monster. In addition to this, this monster also battles with or battled here with two magic damage.

WATER-CALLER

RIVER-NYMPH

Playing with Riftwatchers can be really fun. Water Caller which is one of them and also a rare water element card made an impact both in inflicting damage and stunning the targeted monster. It was used at level four and did make it to the end of the battle.

SABRE SHARK This monster was a great addition to the team. Deployed from level five, this monster was able to battle with three melee damage at a very high speed. The sneak ability of this monster also played an important role in eliminating the back-line monsters in the enemy's team

HARDY STONEFISH Hardy came in to fill the remaining one slot left to complete the team. Due to the rule of the game, it didn't matter the position it was placed in because the opportunity ability sorted that out

The Strategy Behind The Battle

The game rules made making a strategy choice quite difficult. This is because, with opportunity ability, monsters can attack from any position and will always target the weakest link in the opponent's team. However, there was a need to have all attack types on the team with a monster with a taunt ability to distract the enemy. The distraction wasn't all there was to the strategy as every monster had to be protected with armor. Distraction, and protection, were also combined with a stun to make targeted monsters lose a turn to play. The enemy was also made to get attacked in all types, be it melee, ranged, or magic. However, this strategy worked perfectly well. The entire enemy team was eliminated in the fifth round leaving four monsters of mine on the battlefield.

My Opinion of "River Nymph": For me, this monster is of great importance. It is even more important when the game rules involve poison. With Nymph cleanse ability, it can always save the front monster from poison. That isn't all, When used at a higher level, you also get the advantage of Amplify ability which work has been discussed above. River Nymph makes a great addition to every team. I rate it above average.

That will be all for this week.

Again, I'm hitting the pause button here for this week. I'd hope to see you next week when I hit the resume button
