Lost Magic Ruleset, Good Front Tanker and Backline Save the Day

Hello, greeting everyone, how are you? I hope everyone has a good day. Today I want to write a post again in Splinterlands Community for Battle Mage Secrets Challenge. This Week's Theme is Lost Magic ruleset.

Ruleset

  • Target Practice, all ranged and magic attack Monster have the Snipe ability.
    • Snipe ability, target enemy monsters with Range, Magic, or no attack that are not in the first position.
  • Lost Magic, can't use monster with magic attack.

  • Silenced Summoner, summoners do not give any stat buffs or debuffs or grant/use any abilities.

  • mana cap.
  • can use the element Water, Earth, Life, and Dragon.

My Lineup and strategy

Some Tips and strategies we can use :

  • Lost Magic This ruleset means we can only use melee and range monsters, so if possible bring summoner or monsters who can add armor or have armor. Bring the summoners or monsters who have the ability To decrease the enemy melee (Demoralize ability) or range damage (Headwinds ability). Another useful ability is Thorns (every time the melee monster attack and hit the enemy monster it will decrease their HP or Armor) and Return Fire (same as Thorns but will reflect back the range attack to the enemy and give damage).
  • For the ruleset Snipe because this is a low mana battle I like to bring Chaos Agent as the target of enemy range attack. This monster can't attack but have good speed and ability to evade the enemy attack and can reflect back the attack.
  • In the Silenced Summoner ruleset we don't get any buff from the summoner so better if we can use the Dragon element we choose the Dragon element so we can use 2 elements monsters.

Quick the Devious, Summoner. Can decrease enemy monster speed and range damage by -1This summoner buff is useless in this battle because of the Silenced Summoner ruleset, but at least if we use Dragon element having the advantage can use monsters from 2 elements.
Hardy Stonefish, 1st position, Attacker and Tanker, do not have the ability.Because this is a low mana battle with the Lost Magic ruleset we need to fill the slot with a monster. Hardy Stonefish with 1 mana has 2 armor is perfect for this position. He can attack although only has 2 damage and has good defense because of the armor. With armor At least this monster can defend against 2 enemy attacks.
Chaos Agent, 2nd Position, Tanker, Has Ability Dodge, Phase, and BackfirePlace in the 2nd position so if the enemy bring range monster will attack this monster first because of the ruleset Target Practice. This monster although can't attack but can reflect back the enemy's attack if they miss hitting this monster with the Backfire ability and deals 2 damage. Has a good evade ability with the Dodge ability which increases the chance of avoiding enemy attacks by 25%. Phase allows this monster to avoid magic-type attacks, this ability is useless in this battle, no magic monsters can be used. Sometimes this monster can be annoying evading many attacks several times and Backfiring the attacker, I hope can evade several times before dying. 🤩
Pelacor Bandit, 3th position, attacker. Has the ability Sneak, and Flying.This is our main attacker who has fast speed, great damage, and Flying ability (increases the chance to evade melee and ranged attacks by 25%) with this ability I hope can evade some attacks. This monster will attack the enemy monster in the last position because has Sneak ability. Put in this position hoping this monster is safe from attack.
Uraeus, 4th position, attacker. Has the ability Sneak, and Poison.Use this monster because of the Poison ability (if got inflicted on the enemy will decrease their HP every round**. Will cooperate with Pelacor Bandit as our main attacker to attack the enemy monster in the last position with Sneak ability. Same reason with Pelacor Bandit put it in here hoping this monster is safe as long as possible from the enemy attack.
Torrent Fiend, 5th position, Tanker, has the ability Headwinds.We used this because it has zero mana cost and has Headwinds ability which can decrease the enemy range attack by 1 in case the enemy bring many range archer, the second use is as a tanker to protect Uraeus and Pelacor Bandit.
Naga Assassin, 6th position, attacker and tanker. Has the ability Taunt, Backfire, and Swiftness.I use this monster because of the Swiftness ability which can increase all friendly monster speeds by 1. Another reason I put this in the last position is that this monster has good speed and maybe can evade several enemy attacks before it dies. The Backfire ability will give damage to the enemy monster if this monster can evade the attack.

The Battle

  • Round 1:
    The round as usual started with buff and debuff
    At this round, we can see the enemy naga assassin attacking our Chaos Agent but miss and get the reflected damage by 2.

    • The enemy Igor Darkspear died killed by our Pelacor Bandit,
    • The enemy Naga Assassin killed by our Uraeus
    • The enemy Torrent Fiend killed by our Hardy Stonefish
    • Our Naga Assassin was killed by Uraeus

    At the end of this round, the enemy only left 2 monsters Uraeus and Pelacor Bandit and our side still have 5 monsters.



  • Round 2 :
    The enemy Uraeus killed our Torrent Fiend



  • Round 3:
    • Our Hardy Stonefish killed by the enemy Pelacor Bandit
    • The enemy Uraeus killed by our Pelacor Bandit.

Only left Pelacor Bandit in the enemy side, versus our 3 monsters Chaos Agent, Pelacor Bandit, and Uraeus.



  • Round 4:
    Not much the enemy can do with 3 vs 1. Although the enemy Pelacor Bandit can kill our Chaos Agent finally hit by our Uraeus and die.

Did your Strategy Work?

Yes, the Strategy is working the enemy range monsters' attack are weak, the damage already decreases by our monster Torrent Fiend right now only has 1 damage, The enemy Naga Assassin attacked our Chaos Agent got reflected back, and give 2 damage make it easier to kill, this is according to our plan, but our Sneak monster killed the enemy backline to fast so the enemy range monsters don't have more chance to attack again. Our Hardy Stonefish who has good armor defeats the enemy tanker Torrent Fiend in 1st position forcing the enemy Pelacor Bandit to move to the first position, and due to the high armor of Hardy Stonefish the enemy Pelacor Bandit needs two attacks to kill it, giving more time for our Sneak team (Uraeus and Pelacor Bandit) to kill the enemy Uraeus.
The only thing that didn't live up to our expectations was probably the death of our Naga Assassin who was easily killed by the enemy's Pelacor Bandit and Uraeus without even a chance of dodging a single attack.
