Ruleset

From left to right :

  • Keep Your Distance, only magic and range monsters can be used.

  • Holy Protection, all monsters have Divine Shield ability.

    • Divine Shield ability, the first attack on the monster will not give damage.
  • Weak Magic, magic attack will hit armor first before reducing the HP, same like melee attack.

  • Has mana cap 38.
  • Can use the element Fire, Water, and Life.

My Lineup and strategy

Some Tips and strategies we can use :

  • For this ruleset Keep Your Distance and Weak Magic means the enemy will only bring range or magic monster. Using a summoner or monster who can give armor or has the ability Repair (restore armor every round) is very useful in this battle to counter the enemy magic attack.
  • Holy Protection We need to focus fire on attacking 1 enemy monster because the first attack on the monster will ignore the damage. I think the enemy will think the same as us, we can use a monster with the Taunt ability so the damage can be split /shared with another monster to give more chance for our attacking monster to kill the enemy monster.

We decided to use the Life element with the Grandmaster Rathe summoner because we want to use the Iziar monster with Taunt ability who has Martyr ability, our plan is to boost our Range monster, Life has great range monsters who have the ability double damage if we boost this monster the damage will be very high and it will be easy to kill the enemy. We will talk about it more in the lineup discussion :

Summoner or monsterAbilitiesDescription
The Grandmaster Rathe(summoner), make all friendly monster have Armor, Void Armor and Amplify abilityThis monster will give all friendly monster +1 armor, change the armor to void armor (magic damage will hit armor first before the HP), and amplify will Increases Magic Reflect, Return Fire, and Thorns damage to all enemy monsters by 1
image.pngPelacor Conjurer, 1st position, Tanker. Has the ability Flying, Magic Reflect, Divine Shield, and Phase. With this monster, we can reflect Magic attacks back to the enemy. The ability Magic Reflect deals damage equivalent to the attacker's damage divided by 2, rounded up. The Flying ability can increase the chance to dodge enemy ranged attacks by 25%. This monster can evade the enemy's magic attack because has the ability Phase. Has the same ability Divine Shield as Holy Protection* ruleset. We put it in the first position because with high speed can handle all kinds of attacks, he can evade, melee, range, and magic attacks with only 2 mana cost. The weakness this monster can't attack.
Adelade Brightwing, 2nd Position, Attacker and Support, has the ability Flying, Repair, Resurrect, Immunity, and Swiftness.Placed in this position to protect our monster who will get a boost from Iziar Martyr's ability. The Flying ability will increase the chance of dodging enemy range and melee attack by 25%. TheResurrect ability which is very useful for reviving our monster Iziar, is the main reason we use this monster to double the effect of the Martyr ability. The ability Swiftness will help all our monsters to get a +1 speed boost so can increase the chance to attack first, evade the enemy attack, and hit the enemy.
Dax Paragon, 3rd position, attacker. Has the ability Amplify, Affliction.Affliction is a useful skill if the enemy brings a monster with heal ability, if the monster is hit by Affliction status it can't heal, and the chance for inflicting the status every time this monster attack is 50%.
Venari Crystalsmith, 4th position, attacker and support. Has the ability Tank Heal, and Dispel. This is our Healer, it can heal monsters in the first position. Dispel ability will delete all positive buff from the enemy in the first position, this is perfect for this battle, we need the enemy monster in the first position as weak as possible so we can kill it fast.
Iziar 5th position, Attacker and Tanker. Has the ability Taunt, Void, and Martyr abilityPlaced in the 5th position so the enemy damage can be split with the monster in the first position, and we want this monster Martyr ability (every time this monster dies will increase all stats of friendly monsters adjacent to this monster) to boost the stats of monster in the 4th and 6th place. This monster has a Taunt ability, which makes all enemy if can will attack this monster. With the Void ability, this monster is strong against magic. Void ability will half the damage of magic attack
Pelacor Arbales 6th position, attacker. Has Flying and double strike abilityHas total damage of 6, we use this monster because ability Double Strike every round this monster will attack 2 times. With the 2x boost from the Martyr ability, this monster will get 10 damage every round. This is our main attacker put it in the last position because can't use melee monsters the last position will be safe from the enemy attack.

The Battle

  • Round 1:
Oh no, the enemy brings Ilthain, this summoner can reflect back the damage of range attack and boost +1 speed, meanwhile, our main attacker is range attack, look like we will be in trouble in this battle. The good news is the enemy does not bring monsters with Taunt ability.
The battle started with buff and debuff, as usual. Our armor from the summoner is disabled because the enemy brings Time Mage who can decrease armor.
The enemy brings 4 Magic monsters, 1 range, and 1 tanker. This is good for our Iziar monster, Void ability will half that magic damage and prolong the life of the monster. Because all of our attackers, attack the enemy Pelacor Conjurer this monster dies in the first round attacked by our Adelade Brightwing but is resurrected back by the enemy Adelade Brighwing. Our Iziar still lives in this round but the reflect effect from Ilthain damaged all of our range attacks that hit the enemy, and the enemy Prismologist Blast ability really gives us trouble damaging our 3 monsters at once.

  • Round 2 :
Our Iziar die first the first time attacked by Prismologist, boosting the stats of the Pelacor Arbalest and Venari Crystalsmith, then resurrected again by our Adelade Brightwing. The enemy Pelacor Conjurer dies for the 2nd time attacked by Venari Crystalsmith who got the boost, this time forever, the enemy Djinn Renova moves to the first position.

  • Round 3:
Our Iziar dies again for the 2nd time attacked by the enemy Time Mage again boosts the stats of our Pelacor Arbalest and Venari Crystalsmith. The enemy Djinn Renova die attacked by our Pelacor Arbalest. Our two range monsters almost die now the attack on the enemy monsters keeps reflecting back giving damage to our range monster.

  • Round 4:
The enemy Time Mage die attacked by our Venari Crystalsmith the attack reflected back and killed our Venari Crystalsmith. With the death of Time Mage, our armor is back. The enemy Light Elemental killed by our Pelacor Arbalest Luckily the armor was already back so the reflect attack hit the armor of Pelacor Arbalest.
After killing the enemy Light Elemental the Pelacor Arbalest attacked the Prismologist and hit the Divine Shield giving no damage, the damage reflected back and killed our Pelacor Arbalest.

  • Round 5:
We can't kill the enemy Prismologist because of the Repair ability from the enemy Adelade Brightwing, but our Pelacor Conjurer keeps reflecting back the magic attack from the enemy Adelaide Brightwing, this is the only way we can win, but I think will last several rounds.

  • Round 9:
We skip to round 9 finally the enemy Adelade Brightwing death from the Magic Reflect of Pelacor Conjurer.

  • Round 10-11:
Without the support from Adelade Brightwing, we easily kill the Prismologist. At round 11 our Adelade Brightwing kill the Prismologist.

Did your Strategy Work?

Yes, the Strategy is working although the enemy brings the counter summoner for range attack but the strategy to boost the stats by using Iziar Martyr ability work helps prolong the life of our range attack while decreasing the enemy armor and HP. The monster with Taunt ability help our tanker in the first position to live until the last round and finally help beat the enemy, without the Pelacor Conjurer Magic Reflect we will lose for sure.
We said before that the boost will give 10 damage with a Double Strike ability but that does not happen because the enemy brings a Light Elemental monster with Headwinds ability that can decrease the enemy monster's range attack by 1. So we only do 8 damage total with Pelacor Arbalest.
