Splinterlands - Going For Max Level!

Hello Splinterfans!

With all the changes in Splinterlands at the moment, it has been hard to decide how to play going forward and what is the best strategy. I am usually needing things to adjust and settle before I can decide which way I like to play things.

The first big change we had recently was the change to allow all card levels to be played, regardless of what league you are in. I have been a little on the fence with regards to this update, because on the one hand, I enjoy playing maxed out cards with all possible abilities, but on the other hand, leveling up cards to gold level was the budget I had set for the game, but now most players need to go for max level straight away.

This has led me to a conundrum really, because while I was looking to add missing cards to my collection, I now need to go back through my collection and level up fully past gold, my cards that I didnt get a max level already!

However, in the end, I decided to start doing that as it was affecting my gameplay not being able to play max level cards and less fun! As Waynegro famously said in the film Heat, "I had to get it on".. I couldn't have my cards not maxed up any longer and play against maxed out opponents.

I play all decks, but probably fire the least and then life. So my focus has been on water and earth first of all. This weekend I leveled up my Kelya Frendul from 7 to 8 and now can enjoy max level cards with him. Next I also leveled up Possibilus as he is a summoner that I play ALOT!

I then maxed out some of my favorite water cards like Deeplurker and Diemonshark. I really love Diemonshark as a tank and now his retaliate ability will kick in which is great to behold.

I also grabbed myself a maxed out Obsidian as it is going so cheap now. This gives me a nice boost in the earth deck with maxed out cards. Finally I can play Pelacor Mercenary to his full potential.

He has some awesome stats now at max level and with the awesome retaliate, comes into his own too! I still need to get Immortalis at max level as he is another summoner that I play alot, along with Quix the Devious.

As they are legendaries, I usually just needed level 3 for the gold league, but now I need level 4 for max level, which means another 5 copies. I am hoping that the SPS token will pump to help me swap to DEC to buy what I need.

Luckily the chaos legion cards have been dropping in price so that getting the cards leveled up is not so expensive as buying rebellion. So far with the rebellion set, I am just at level 1!

What is your strategy for Splinterlands now?
