Splinterlands - End of Season 106 Highlights

Hello Splinterfans!

It is one of my most favorite times of the month when a Splinterlands season comes to an end. You can't beat the feeling of getting a nice haul of chests and doing a mass chest opening and then a few pack openings too if you are lucky. 😅

This season I have made a few upgrades to my deck. One that I have made recently was to Uriel the Purifier who now at level 2 has the heal ability and that comes in very handy.

I also upgraded my Runeslinger to level 4 where he becomes the affliction ability and it will be fun to use him more in the future now. Apart from these, I have also upgraded some of the neutral monsters who I am finding come in very handy now that are upgraded.

It was announced that we would be getting a change to the energy system and that the ECR system would be going now. This means that we would be able to play 24 games per day and the rewards should be equal instead of on a scale.

I believe the thinking behind this is that this is to make things simpler for newer players. I can certainly agree that this makes things simpler and is a great improvement to the game. I'm not sure why the measure was implemented. To fight bots? No idea. But it is a tad confusing and a simpler system makes sense to me.

It was also good to see this season that I didn't fall back down to silver and instead stayed in gold. It is great to see the team making many great improvements to the game like this.

Looking at my season match report, I have improved my ranking and ratings. I also had a bumper winning streak in wild, a league I usually find very tough to compete in. I'm not sure if this was from a weak bot farm or something, but I'm not complaining and bank the wins!

My End of Season chests were pretty awesome and I was very happy with them. I got many cards including plenty of gold foil ones. The cherry on the top was getting a pack, as I love a pack opening. There wasn't anything special in the pack, but it was still great to get it.

My full season rewards were probably one of the best yet with 5 packs, the most I have ever had plus 2 legendary soulbound cards. A new ritual that I have after opening my chests and packs at the end of the season is to level up all my soulbound cards, I just love leveling up cards!

This season I entered a few tournaments and managed to improve my ranking in the last one finishing 15th. My aim is to enter a few more tournaments this season.

MacGuiver my bot account has completed his fight season and has been improving a lot. He has stayed in silver with his low level 1 card deck, but he has finally been getting more reward cards which has been good.

I'm not sure what I want to do with MacGuiver yet, but I have a few spare gold foil cards that I am not using, so may pimp him with a few gold foils and see how he does.

This season he managed 78 silver chests and 28 bronze chests.

The new rental system has kicked in and prices still seem quite cheap on the market for rentals. I am renting very few cards generally, sometimes a summoner or strong tank, but generally I can make do without them usually.

My own rentals have remained at about the same level of 5-600 DEC per day.

Here you can see the drop off in rentals before the changes were announced to the reward cards. I have sold most of my rental cards or upgraded them to play with. I still have a few cards renting, but not so many as before.

My plans for this season are to buy some SPS, probably around 30k and stake it to boost my staked SPS stack. I will also try and buy a new summoner, either a legendary level 3 or a regular level 6 one. It will depend whats on the market.

That's all for this update.

Thanks for reading.
