WHAT TO EXPECT FROM SPLINTERLANDS LAND UPDATE 1.0

Finally, the Splinterlands team has released the Land 1.0 update after a long wait, there must have been plenty of things done behind this update such as artwork, coding, backend support, and blockchain scalability. But, it is a relief that this update has brought some happiness to the faces of land plots holders.

Splinterlands released The Journey to Praetoria Begins! around 4 months ago, which gave us a sneak peek into the Land system, then "The Secret of Praetoria" whitepaper was released some days ago to mark the new era of finally seeing your land plots on the map of Praetoria.

Land Update Phase 1.0

This is a basic update patched in the game just a few days ago, this update will allow the players to perform certain actions in the game in the "LAND" section.

These actions are:

  • Claiming Land Deeds
  • Get Your Land Surveyed by Exploration Parties
  • Buying and Selling Lands From Within The Praetoria Map

Claiming Land Deeds:

Players who own 'Land Plot Claim' tokens in their Splinterlands wallet can claim Land Deeds. Land Deeds signify the location of the plot and provide a tokenized ownership of the land plot.

As shown in the above image, if you hold a Land Plot Token, you'll notice a "CLAIM DEEDS" button on the extreme right of the Land page. Upon clicking the button, you'll be welcomed by a goblin land registrar, it is a Land Registration page where you can claim deeds of your plot, tract, or region. Once you have registered your Land Plot tokens, you receive an unsurveyed plot.

Get Your Land Surveyed by Exploration Parties:

Now, you have registered your land on the map of Praetoria by claiming the deed, you can perform a plot survey to know additional detail about the claimed plot.

This is how an unsurveyed plot looks like in the game as shown in the image. Now, select any unsurveyed plot and perform a survey operation. Once the plot is surveyed by the exploration parties, you'll reveal rarity, type, and boosts if applied during the survey operation.

Note: If you want to apply a boost to your Land Plots, you can only do this during the survey process, if you could not apply any boosts at this stage, you won't be able to do so afterward. Each boost costs you 10,000 DEC, therefore plan in advance whether you like to invest in boosts or not, because this is a one-time operation.

As shown in the image above, there are 3 types of boosts you can apply to your land plot during the survey operation. These boosts are 'Building in a Box', 'Time Vault', and 'Unstable Totem'.

Buying and Selling Lands From Within The Praetoria Map:

Splinterlands players can now list their claimed surveyed or unsurveyed plots for sale from within the Praetoria map and also buy plots appearing in the 'For Sale' section of the Land page.

If you own a plot, you can list your plots in the non-card market for sale, the process is pretty simple, if you want to know more about it, follow this Support Guide for listing and delisting your lands.

Buying land plots is also very simple, just click on the "FOR SALE" tab to bring all plots listed for sale in the non-card market of Splinterlands.

You can see black dots those are regions containing different types of plots listed for sale by their respective owners. Click on any black dot to bring the region view and look for plots and their stats.

Now, click on the "VIEW PLOTS" button to see the plot page and buying options.

You can buy plots by spending DEC or Credits, if you like to buy then click on the "BUY" button and complete your transaction using Hive Keychain.

You can also apply filters for different views of the page and sort plots according to their rarity and prices.

Final Words

This current update is very crucial for land owners to make them adapt to the land system of Splinterlands because there will be more updates and changes in the future, therefore it is important to slowly move to the next step.

The next update is expected at the end of Q2 or beginning of the Q3, I think it is a nice gap to keep players playing with their land plots and establishing a bigger land market before the next update.

This is just a know-how of the Phase 1.0 update and what we can expect from this current update. If you have anything to share in this regard, please feel free to post a comment.
