Neutrals of Splinterlands are known to become an aide in the battles by either being an ally or a hired goon. Even powerful Splinters sometimes need assistance from neutral units to win a fierce battle.

Venari a mole-like species are best known for its extremely intelligent behavior and unmatched battle skills. Venaris are not much strong, but they defeat the foes with their wit and wisdom.

The weekly challenge brings a Venari neutral unit called Venari Spellsmith, his radiated magic and dispelling powers weaken the enemy lines.

LORE

A Venari sorcerer is incomplete without studying the art of magic and tinkering at the 'Institute of Application'. That's why every Venari Spellsmith first learns the art of magic and gets a graduation degree first.

This learning process imbues the magic into their veins making them more powerful and dangerous. It is rumored that when a Venari Spellsmith dies, the magic explodes like a bomb from their corpse damaging everyone nearby.

BATTLE LINEUP

LORDSHAH'S CARDS OPPONENT'S CARDS
Thaddius Brood (Summoner) Pyre (Summoner)
Carrion Shade Living Lava
Venari Bonesmith Lava Spider
Venari Spellsmith -

STRATEGY
I tried to win a battle with magic attacks using 2 magic units, one of them was Venari Spellsmith. It was a 13 mana battle, therefore I had to select my cards very carefully.

I used Thaddius Brood as a summoner to reduce my opponent's health and magic attack. But, she only reduced the health because the opponent was using melee and ranged attack units.

Carrion Shade was used in the first position to at least do 1 damage to the opponent and also give some time to Venari Bonesmith to enhance the life using his 'Life Leech' ability.

Venari Bonesmith was placed at 2nd position because he would have sapped enough health from the enemy unit to survive the battle.

Venari Spellsmith stood at the last position to help defeat the tank unit of the enemy.

Battle Video
The battle spans 6 rounds and shows how 2 Venari units are destroying a formidable enemy with melee and ranged attacks.

BATTLE COMMENTARY

Pyre the summoner enhances his units with +1 Speed, unfortunately, speed is useless against magic units. Thaddius Brood weaves a curse in the air and weakens enemy units by removing their 1 health point.

Round 1
Enhancement in the Speed by Pyre gives the enemy unit to attack first, Lava Spider hits Bonesmith first, but Bonesmith regains his health by sapping the life from Living Lava.

Carrion Shade is like a fly against Living Lava, the hellish heat from molten lava barbeques Carrion into a lump of roasted meat.

Round 2
Lava Spider now attacks Venari Spellmith, but he has still some fuel left in his tank to enfeeble Living Lava.

Venari Bonesmith laughs "haha! Just 1 more hit and your burning ass will be sent to real hell forever."

Round 3
Spellsmith grumbles in pain and calls Bonesmith "My Venari brother, make our nation proud and successful by defeating those fiery enemies." and then he turns into ashes after taking a fire spit from Lava Spider.

Bonesmith blasts Living Lava with magic bombs ending his existence once and for all.

Round 4 to 6
Lava Spider comes face-to-face with Venari Bonesmith and surrenders before him.

"You think surrendering in front of me will save your life, now eat these magic balls, you disgusted spider." and then Venari Bonesmith shoots 3 powerful magic balls towards the spider turning him into a roll of cobweb.

SPLINTERLANDS QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

Tell us about your lineup.

The information is provided in the 'Battle Lineup' section. Although, I used a death summoner with 2 death and 1 neutral unit.

Explain why you put each card in that position and why they are a good fit with VENARI SPELLSMITH.

I have explained in the 'Strategy' section that I used Carrion Shade to provide some time to Bonesmith to add extra health by using the 'Life Leech' ability, that is why Bonesmith was placed in 2nd position to take Carrion's position.

Venari Spellsmith was placed in the last position to support Bonesmith to defeat the tank unit.

Did your strategy work?

Of course, it worked like a charm, but the result could be different if the opponent had used Tarsa instead of Pyre.

What will you try differently next time?
I am thinking of using a Dragon Summoner such as Drake of Arnak to provide Armor buff on my units. I am also thinking of using a level 4 Venari Spellsmith to use its 'Amplify' to boost ability-based damages such as Thorns or Return Fire.

Do you like VENARI SPELLSMITH? Why or why not?

I think it is a nice card from 4th level onward and it has a broader utilization due to its neutral status.
