Immortalis is Rathe Destroyer (Battle Mage Secrets: Reverse Speed)

Life units surrounded the keep which was an attempt to occupy the guild belonging to Immortalis. Grandmaster Rathe lead army was about to embark on an attack, they were heavily armed and their armor was capable of consuming magic damage before it got destroyed.

Keep's Baron called upon Immotalis and discussed the situation, he got furious hearing about Rathe's plans and summoned Ancient Redwood to aid him in foiling Rathe's attempt to overthrow him.

Reverse Speed

Reverse speed is a very tricky ruleset, it allows low-speed monsters to attack first and also provides them with the highest dodge chances. When this ruleset is imposed on a battle, players are advised to use 1 Speed monsters to use it in their favor. Although magic attacks always hit the monsters except those having Phase ability.

Additional Ruleset: Keep Your Distance

Players cannot use melee units when the battle preparation shows up in this ruleset, they can only use Ranged and Magic monsters.

STRATEGY

In the "Keep Your Distance" ruleset you know there will be no melee units participating in the battle, therefore you focus on your best ranged or magic units to prepare a strong team.

I went for Earth units to be used in the battle because most of them had low speed and magic attacks always hit the target unit.

I wanted to keep my units safe from magic attacks, so choosing Immortalis was the right decision, with his Void and Shatter my ranged unit could kill unarmored enemy units with ease.

For the best result, I used a Taunt monster to receive all incoming damage and he was supported by 2 Tank Healers.

Summoner and Monsters in Action

Immortalis with a legendary Earth summoner who bestows his units with Void and Shatter abilities and also culls enemy health by 1 point. Shatter ability completely destroys armor and the Void ability makes units strong against magic damage and they take 1 less damage.

Mycelic Slipspawn is a tank unit of this battle, he does 2 magic damage and takes on damage to himself because of Taunt ability.

Goblin Psychic is placed in 2nd position, he provides healing to the tank unit and attacks his target with magic damage.

Mushroom Seer occupies 3rd position in the battle lineup and he is used to further reduce the enemy's magic damage by 1 point by activating his Silence ability.

Wood Nymph sits in 4th position and she is also a healer, she heals 1st friendly unit in the lineup and also uses her magic attack to scare enemy units.

Ancient Redwood is placed in 5th position, he is a legendary unit with True Strike ability, his attacks never miss and he hurls big pine trees on enemy units.

BATTLE COMMENTARY

Both summoners are ready to augment their units with magical powers of their own. Immortalis hits his oaken staff on the ground, a lightning spark emerges and all friendly units gain Void and Shatter ability, he sends a curse toward enemy units making them suffer 1 health point.

Grandmaster Rathe conjures light spheres and wraps his unit with them, now they have +1 armor, Void Armor, and Amplify abilities.

Round 1
Mushroom Seers creates an Aura of Silence around the enemy unit, now their magic attacks are weakened, then Djinn Renova boosts her army's health by 1 point making them bear more damage.

A vibrating voice emerges, Mycelic Slipspawn sings "We know you come to defeat us but forget not we are the one to be victorious."

Thousands of tiny poisonous spores surround Pelacor Conjurer and kill him instantly as he breathes them.

Round 2
Baffled life units are confused to see why their magic attack not doing any harm to Mycelic Slipspawn, what sorcery they are using, and why we are so weak.

Grandmaster Rathe starts to sweat as his Void Armor ability has failed to stop magic attacks of Earth units.

Round 3
"Redwood attacks, Redwood true strike, Redwood kills." roars Ancient Redwood and hurls a pine tree on Time Meddler, he turns into a plump under the pine trunk.

Round 4
The same fate for Adelade Brightwing, she tries to evade the pine tree, but it is too huge to evade even when flying, her wings tangle in the pine branches, and she falls to the ground along with the heavy pine tree weight. Her bones crack and her soul leaves her forever.

"Plenty came to end our lineage, yet we still live with courage." says Slipspawn in a melodious voice and ends Venari Crystalsmith's miserable life.

Round 5
Djinn Renova becomes a tank, she knows her fate is sealed and there is no escape.

"Take my life king of spores, I won't flee but die an honorable death." expresses Djinn Renova with a thunderous voice. Slipspawn honors her request and makes her a martyr.

Round 6
A sinister snicker echoes from Psychic Goblin's mouth, he is so happy to kill Pelcor Arbalest, "That's what I call a psychic death blow, hehe, haha!"

STRATEGY OUTCOME ANALYSIS

I feel that my opponent might have thought of using Grandmaster Rathe as good protection against magic damage, but he did not know that Immortalis's army could shatter any armor that they saw with just a single hit. My opponent was using a Tank healer but my collective damage was much higher to cut short my opponent's army in the battle.

The strategy worked blissfully and Life magic units turned out to be no threat to my tank because of Void and Silence abilities in action.

I'll try replacing Ancient Redwood in a similar battle and use 2 different monsters such as Iza the Fang and Goblin Tower, there are a lot of things to experiment with.

Now, you know how to counter an opponent's strategy with Immortalis when they are laced with thick and heavy armor, try this strategy and give me your feedback.
