ILTHAIN A MOST UNDERRATED SUMMONER FROM WRIFTWATCHERS EDITION

Hi Splinterlands Enthusiasts from far and beyond,

It's been quite some weeks since I have not been able to write Splinterlands content here in Hive due to many reasons, but I keep active in the game and commenting on my friends' posts.

Many times I tried to write but some personal stuff and important family matters caught me up and I had to prioritize things for my family. Well, now I reshuffle my schedules and try to make a timetable to give time to write Splinterlands content as well.

I'll talk about my digressions another time, right now I should move on to what the title is all about and I'll bring about some discussion on the most underrated summoners called Ilthain. So, let's move on to our main topic.

In Splinterlands summoners are the key to every battle, without them, you cannot set a monster team to start a battle. There are different types of Summoners, some boost the monsters' stats and abilities, while some of them curse their opponents and reduce their stats.

Choosing the right summoner against your opponent does matter in changing the tide of the battle. Ilthain provides the special ability and she also boosts the stats of all the monsters in a battle. Selecting this amazing summoner can help you change the tide of battle.

We'll now learn about Ilthain the summoner, so without any delay let's dive into the crypt to see this new underrated Riftwatchers summoner.

ILTHAIN

Ilthain is an epic summoner from Riftwatchers edition and it hails from the Life element. Ilthain has a very interesting Lore and story which tells about her past and present and how she was resurrected after her death.

She was a member of a notorious guild known as Silver Shield and she was also a Martial Arts expert. She became very popular among her people when she defeated rebellions in Khymeria and brought peace and prosperity into the land.

When she died, her body was placed into a tomb built inside Peace of Light Monastery. Ilthain gained the status of "Saint" on her first anniversary due to supplications made by her devotees.

Ilthain found herself alive again after 71 years of eternal sleep. She remained in the dark and never revealed herself to her people, but she has more questions than answers. So, she went out to look for the clues of her resurrection, could it be the magic of Chaos Legion?

ILTHAIN CARD AND SUMMONER'S BUFFS

Ilthain being an epic summoner provides 2 very interesting buffs i.e. 1) +1 Speed and 2) Return Fire ability.

+ 1 Speed increases the Speed of all monsters providing them better initiative on their attacks and also helping them evade some hits.

Ilthain also gives all monsters a very deadly ability called Return Fire. If a ranged attack monster hits a monster with 'Return Fire', the attacker receives reduced damage. The attack number will be divided by 2 and rounded, the rounded number will be the damage of Return Fire affecting the attacker.

ILTHAIN IN BATTLES

Ilthain is a "No Mercy" card for opponents having ranged monsters in their battle lineup. This card is my favorite one and 50% of my battles are fought by using Ilthain because you get speed for initiative & evasion and Return Fire against ranged monsters.

Battle # 1 Ruleset: Briar Patch

In this battle I used a typical battle lineup having a tank with Taunt ability, then there are 2 healers and 2 Shield Repair monsters.

Even though the battle ruleset is very dangerous, my team successfully came out of the battle as a winner due to destroying the ranged monster with their attacks on my tank.

Battle # 2 Ruleset: Reverse Speed

Now, this one is a very interesting battle, where I purposely increased the speed of all my monster using Ilthain to keep them waiting for their turn, while enemy healers may end up useless for a while.

The opportunity monster Deeplurker was busy killing my low-health backline monsters, meanwhile, Jared Scar was enhancing his stats with bloodlust ability. He became so powerful and ruined all water elemental teams' dreams of winning this battle.

Battle # 1 Ruleset: Briar Patch

I thought that enemy would use ranged attacks, but again Ilthains +1 Speed became so handy to win the battle.

When there is "Briar Patch" ruleset, we try to avoid using melee monsters, because when you hit you lose -2 health or shield straight away. Still, it was a tough battle that turned against the enemy himself because of using melee monsters, while I used the magic monster "Time Meddler" as a tank with 'Dodge' ability.

My healer and shield repair monsters did a nice job as long as they remained in the battle, while Ilthain's +1 Speed stood out to give more time to my monsters for making a vicious victory in the end.

FINAL WORDS

When I used Ilthain for the first time, I became a fan of this card due to its "Return Fire" buff. I always find a chance to use this monster in my battles, when I observe the battle history of my potential opponents and find out that they are using ranged monsters in their battle lineups, then I bring forth Ilthain to kill enemy monsters with their arrows and +1 Speed is a plus point.

I showed you 3 different types of battles above, the first one was a perfect battle where Ilthains +1 Speed and Return Fire did a wonderful job. In 2nd battle, I hold all my monsters from going into battle at first intentionally as I wanted my monsters to strike at once and enemy healers did not get a chance to heal the tank. The third battle was all about +1 Speed, where my monsters evaded a lot of enemy attacks and survived for a few extra turns.

Ilthain is indeed the best card to use in a battle where your enemy uses some ranged monsters. And even if there are no ranged monsters in your enemy battle lines, then +1 Speed gives you a nice advantage over your opponent.

I hope you'll try this resurrected summoner, who is agile and knows how to make their enemies killed without a fight.
