Overview

The new Weekly ruleset Challenge is an amazing twist that I am enjoying so far and I hope there will be twists like that in the future to keep this Challenge's fresh. 😁

This week the ruleset is the Lost Magic, which means magic units may not be used in battle.

  • Use Thorns and Demoralize to counter melee attacks.
  • Use Headwinds and Return Fire to counter ranged attacks.
  • Units with 2 types of attack (which include magic) cannot be used.

The upcoming Battle ruleset

RulesetDescription
Healed OutAll healing abilities are removed from Monsters and Summoners.
Lost MagicMonsters with Magic attack may not be used in battles.
Lost LegendariesLegendary Monsters may not be used in battles.

The mana cap for my next battle was 33, which is not much, but it is enough to use few key monsters. I do not really like the Healed Out ruleset, because I like when a monster can heal themselves to sustain more damage.

It is easy to ignore the magic attack monsters and it is important to take advantage of the monsters with protective abilites. Luckily the the Lost Legendaries ruleset eliminates all the legendary monsters and usually they are quite mana expensive as well, so the 33 mana cap is quite handy. 😊

My lineup

Possibilus the Wise cost 6 mana as a summoner, which is almost the most expensive in the game, but in return he has three ability to give it to his monsters. He will increase the Health of all of his friendly monsters by two and he also gives the Reach ability to them as well, which means that all the melee attack monsters from the second position will be able to attack. The Trample ability will provide an extra attack to his melee attack monsters in case they kill an enemy monster. 😌
The Diemonshark is a tank, but he is more like a damage dealer kind and not the defensive one, because he has quite a lot of speed and a lot of melee attack, which will be further boosted if he takes any damage, because he has the Enrage ability which will increase his own melee attack and speed by 50%. 💪

The Coastal Sentry is quite expensive, because she cost 10 mana, but she has four melee attack damage, which wouldn't be so high on its own, but she also has the Double Strike ability, which means that she will be able to attack twice in every round and if she utilizes her Piercing ability she will be able to damage through armors as well. 😇
The Angelic Mandarin is an excellent ranged attack monster, because his abilities are amazing. He has the Triage ability, which means that he will be able to heal one damaged monster in his backline once per round. He also has the Silence ability, which will decrease the magic attack of all the enemy monsters by one, but it is pretty much worthless in the Lost Magic ruleset. 😜

The Pelacor Bandit has high speed and quite a lot of damage for only 3 mana. He has the Sneak and Flying ability, so he will be able to attack the last monster from the enemy team and dodge a lot of incoming attacks. 🤞
The Uraeus cost only 3 mana as well, but he doesn't have the Flying ability, so his life is numbered at the back of my lineup. Hopefully he will Poison his target, so they will take an extra 2 damage at the end of the round, but first he has to trigger that and the chance for that is 50% per hit. 😁

My opponent brought the Underboss Fabino who is an Earth Summoner and he is quite a special one, because the player who uses him will be able to choose between two of his abilits to be given to any of his monsters. The first one is +2 melee attack to two choosen monster or the other is to give the Poison ability to one of his monster. 😅

In the first round my Bandit killed their Venari Marksrat, which was intentional by my opponent to increase the stats of their Uraeus.

My team wouldn't kill anyone apart from that unless my Diemonshark would activate his Retaliate ability and attacked back at his attacker, which killed their Grund immediately and also provided an extra attack for him, which he missed.

In the seciond round I have lost my Uraues, but my Diemonshark killed their Fungus Fiend and Venari Scout with the help of my Coastal Sentry who killed the last two of their monster using her Double Strike and Trample abilities. 😊

Battle Result

Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?

My strategy worked perfectly, because my tank and off-tank did a great job dealing a huge amount of damage thanks to their Retaliate and Trample abilites. The battle was quick and efficient and it is very difficult to stop this kind of lineup. 🤗
